Hang on while I burn these clothes.

I really should become a wedding consultant. For those of you who are getting married, let me tell you something, no one really wants to be at your wedding. (yes I stole that bit from Sein)... but let me add, no one wants to be at your reception for more than about 2 hours tops... even with an open bar.

I slept in this morning until 10:30 AM. Woke up and finished up some other video stuff and made my way to Tag's around 1:00 to pick up some gear for the wedding we were filming today. That started at 3:00 with Jeff, Tag, and I doing the show. Everything went smoothly and the entire ceremony was about 20 minutes. The reception was a little agonizing with all the drunk people. I finally got out of there around 7:30.

Met up with Jeff around 8:00 and we made our way to The Brick. Did a drive thru and saw that the guy who takes up the cover charge was at the door, so we nixed that idea and decided to go to Huntsville to meet some girls and shoot a little pool.

The first (and only) stop was the Jazz Factory because we haven't been there in about a month. There were about 6 or 7 ladies at the table next to us, so the fun began almost immediately after we got there. Played several games. A few of which were horrendus, while the others were really good. Go figure that. Left there at 10:00 and came back to Decatur. Thought about going to Logan's, and then backed out at the last minute. Then drove by Applebee's, and decided to just come on home.

Ummm k, I smell like a cigar factory, so I'm gonna get cleaned up and go to bed.

Today was one of

those days where I just didn't get anything worthwhile accomplished... aside from the shopping bargains I posted about earlier today.

After work I came home and was just incredibly tired, so I kicked back on the couch. Jeff and I hit up the Brick a little later around 6:30. We haven't been up to The Brick in a while. Shot some pool and hung out for a bit then it was off to find some food. Ended up at Applebee's for the first time in weeks. Everyone was surprized. Many said they thought we had killed ourselves. I have no idea why they would even think such a thing. Oh wait.

Well I was going to meet J-mo and folks back up the Brick a little while ago, but I'm just too tired. I had trouble staying awake all day today. No Caffiene I guess.

Oh that reminds me... as whack as this is... I am actually on a diet.

Good Lord I can't believe I am having to go on a frickin' diet. It's because I sit around all day and eat powdered donuts and drink cokes and stuff. I've been running/walking Wilson Morgan like 3 or 4 days a week. Spending a minimum of 1 hour out there for "cardio" and then hitting the gym. I'm exercising for at least 2 hours a day 3 days a week.

The only reason I was drinking so many cokes in the first place was because it gave me an excuse to go in and see Moriah. (The company I work for provides free beverages for all employees... coke, juice, water, etc) Now that I got her phone number and we've gone out, I don't need to go in to see her anymore because I can talk to her whenever I want. So no more cokes for me. LOL

Talked to Shane tonight around 9:00 and he was just getting in to West Virginia. What should have been a 6 hour drive turned into a 10 hour drive due to 3 wrecks on the Interstate (45 min, 45 min, 2 hour; 10-mi backup). Lovely. You never have those kinds of problems when you fly for some reason. Maybe we will in the future, but we currently don't have air jams at the moment.

Today at work, I was surfing vacation cruise deals (I don't know why... I don't know who I'd be wanting to take on a cruise.... tee hee) and ran across one that was a 10-day Hawaiian one. The Top of the line suite package was like $2,100 a person. So I'm going to fork over $4,200 + airfare to Hawaii. Psssshhhh yeah right. I might spring for the $900/person 'bowel's of the ship" package though. LOL

Ok it's 10:30 now and I'm going to go to bed so I can wake up early tomorrow and work on some stuff before the wedding at 3:00 PM.

Deal of the Century

I hooked up at Dilliards today. List Price of my Murano items (3 dressy pants and 5 dressy shirts) = $352.00. Actual Price paid = $136.85. That's a savings of $215.15!!!

Normally I wouldn't have even bought these kind of 'dressy casual' clothes, but I figure I need to be looking stylish for the upcoming New York Trip on Sept 2-7, 2004.

In other news, I tried to watch some of the DNC last night, but it was so incredibly agonizing. I didn't have enough duct tape to wrap around my head to keep all the pieces together once it exploded.

Looks like Jeff and I will be hitting up the Brick around 5:30 tonight for some early Billiards action since Gulliver is playing there tonight and I know it's going to be packed out.

That's about it for now. I gotta get some work done.

Sixty Six + twenty five

equals ninety one.

That's right my friends.... 66+25=91.

91%... that is the max discount you will find when you go to the Parkway Place Mall Dillards store!!!!! Holy Cow!

And it's not just the usual crap Marko Polo, Nautica, and Tommy Hellfigure clothes... this is on the stylin' Murano, Perry Ellis, and Claiborne clothes.

Selection is 10x better than what I've seen in Decatur or Madison Square Mall.

Who Am I & Indoctrination

Sounds like the title to some sort of graduate level philanthropic text doesn’t it?

Well today at the office was incredibly busy. The other day I mentioned I was on page 14 of the 9/11 commission report. Well, I’m actually on page 29 now. Only 520 something pages to go. I ended up working really late, and thus, didn’t get a chance to go to the gym at the usual 5:30. Instead I came home and just sat around until the dinner gathering at the mall at 6:30.

Met up with everyone for dinner. Had a huge crowd tonight. Did the usual mall walking stuff. I took some pictures, but they didn’t come out that good. That’s ok though because Sharon was taking pictures with her full sized camera.

For some reason Kailyn was just all wanting me to hold her tonight. I was like, “Who am I?” LOL The best part of all was, we were walking around Dilliards, and they had the 66% and 75% racks of clothes and I was like, “See this price… this shirt is $79.00… we don’t pay this kind of money for clothes… we wait for sales. My friend Dave Ramsey would be very proud right now” Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Gotta start teachin’ ‘em young. Especially the girls. ROFL I’m looking forward to the day Dave starts his dating service. What?

I forgot to mention, that yesterday when I was shopping at Old Navy in Nashville, I realized, I simply can’t justify spending over $15 MAX for any single piece of clothing… and that $15.00 is like the discounted price of a $80.00 shirt.

Well that’s about it. It’s almost 10:00 so I’m going to bed.

Nightly Funny:
“Why can’t I get girls my age to be like this?”

What did he just say?

It’s time for another exciting recap of yesterday! Woke up at 8:56. Got to church at 9:21. Rehearsed and then played. Everything went fairly well save for the broken string on Kevin’s guitar in the middle of a song…. Oh and I completely mounged one of the guitar solos. Lovely.

After that, it was the usual indecisiveness on where to eat lunch. Jon said that Dabney wanted to eat at Cracker Barrel. I was like, “Who is that?” LOL turns out it was one of the 2 newer girls who have started coming to church. So I went back inside and introduced myself to them and said they had chosen a fine restaurant.

At first it was just going to be like 6 of us, me, Jon, Kevin, Elizabeth, Abney, and one of their other friends. Well… 1 other friend turned into like 6. So here we are, all crammed into one table that usually seats only 8. It was fun though. I enjoyed acting like I was 10 years old by stuffing packets of “Sweet and Lo” into Dabney’s purse when she left the table for a moment… at the request of Jon.

After that joyous happiness, I came home around 1:30 and started packing for a trip to Nashville. Jeff got to my house around 3:00 and we headed out. It was raining like a mother. Dropped off some stuff at Shane’s house and then we made our way downtown to put on our usual billiards exposition. Our fans were surprised to see us there on Sunday. Oh wait. We don’t have any fans.

[[--begin mis communicado --]]
Em called and was like all wanting me to come see her. And I was like, “We just talked about this yesterday. You said you were going to be busy tonight and that we’d get together this coming week. Do you think that I would have come to Nashville this afternoon if there was a chance I could come see you tonight?
[[--end mis communicado --]]

Anyways, the news of the day was BILLIARDS IS FREE ON SUNDAY!!!!!! Wow. That saved like $18.00 because we were there for 1.5 hours.

I just really love the atmosphere of being on Second Avenue, in Buffalo Billiards, by the giant windows overlooking the street. People meandering along with seemingly no real place to go. Everyone having a good time. Taking it easy. It are those very precious moments that I stop and think, “I wish I was independently wealthy so I could just sit here, stuff my face, shoot pool, and people watch all day.” That would never get old.

Finished up Billiards and it was time for Famous Dave’s BBQ at Cool Springs. Man I love that place. The cute hostess girl was like, “ya’ll have been here before… I recognize you.” Wow. We haven’t been there in like 3 weeks. I guess we made an impression on her. Or something. Food was good as usual.

Stopped at Kinko’s to pick up some copies that Shane had phoned in, and then headed back to his place. Ended up leaving Thompson’s Station around 9:30.

We were listening to this show called “Handle on the law” and this dude was giving legal advice, and all his answers to callers questions were like, “YEAH! Take ‘em to court! Sue Em! You’ve got a case”. I was like, “I could do this show” LOL

Got home right at 11:00 PM. I swear, I was literally already in bed by the time Jeff was pulling out of my driveway. I just walked in and laid right down.

Take it as it comes

The day started off busy. I was up around 7:30 and worked on video stuff pretty much solid until noon. I'm not even sure what happened after that. I know at one point around 1:00 PM I thought I was a little sleepy, so I was going to lay down and rest my eyes....next thing I knew it was 6:00 PM.

I didn't get a whole lot else accomplished today. I wanted to go to Wilson Morgan and stuff, but I ended up just sitting at the house. Watched the G3 DVD (it was either that or the SRV DVD, since I only own 2 DVD's).

There is that one point on the song, "I'm The Hell Outta Here" right after Tony MacAlpine's solo... Steve comes back in with this absolutely insane dual handed/multi-string tapping line. I must've just listened to that little 10-15 second line about 30 times tonight.

After that I popped in the 'ol classic "Fist Of The North Star". I love the little smiley sticker on the front that says, "NOT FOR KIDS" LOL. There's a reason for that my friends. I haven't watched that movie in like 3 or 4 years.

Even though I've only been up for like 5 hours now, I guess I'm going to go to bed. SNL is on, but it sucks.

Exciting Times Now and Then...75% off!

Well today (Friday) was the most interesting day I've had in..... 7 days. Got the morning started off with a trip to the airfield. I emailed a pic to everyone except me, so I'll have to get someone to send it to me since I did it from work. When I got back to the office it was time to read the 9-11 report issued by the 9-11 commission. As I blogged earlier in the day, it was very very interesting. I'm only on like page 14 though because I kept getting interrupted with work related stuff.

After lunch we got 59 today so that meant everyone was leaving at like 2:00 PM. (That's 59... not 69.... I don't even know what that is supposed to mean). As a result not much else was done. I ended up down at the other end of the hall talking to Sara the rest of the afternoon. Next thing I knew it was 3:20 and I was late! She always makes me late! I wanted to leave before 3:00. Oh well. She's a girl after my own heart. ie. she's very good with money. LOL.

I made my way home and ended up at Wilson Morgan a little after 4:00. Left at 5:30 and got cleaned up and stuff. J-mo messaged and said he wanted to get out of town. So we hit up Huntspatch and did Sakkio @ MSM for dinner. Dilliards was having one of their famous 75% off sales so we both hooked up with good stuff cheap. I don't know if I mentioned it, but last weekend I hooked up with a $70 polo shirt for $7.99. Now THAT"s what I'm talkin' about!!!

Anyways, I gave Moriah a buzz and she said they were all fixing to head to Sammy T's.... I was like, "Ok...... " As you know, clubbing is not my thing.

We got to the movie theater around 9:10. We saw "The Bourne Supremacy". That movie is very very good. As J-mo mentioned, some of the camera work looked like it was something we had shot... ie, shaky as a mother. Overall though it was action packed and very suspenseful. It is highly recommended.

Now I'm at home, gettin' ready to go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.

The 9/11 report

It is absolutely imperative that every American read this report. (It’s also imperative that you tune into Glenn Beck this morning as he talks about this AM800/1230 Decatur/Huntsville)

I am doing so now. Let me tell you something, it gives the real picture of what happened over the past 8 years and on the side exposes that piece of filth Michael Moore movie, “Fahrenheit 911” as the lie that it is.

It's a non-partisan report and blame is not placed on either administration, but it leads me to believe that there is now no question that George Bush will be elected President for one more term.

Stay strong and become wise my friends.

Weekend's almost here

Sorry for not blogging lately, but I've been working some major hours at both jobs.

Delivered Dancers INC's DVD's on Tue and VHS on Wed. I've been getting into bed around 9:30 to make up for lack of sleep last week.

I got a check in the mail from Boeing today. LOL I'm still a part of the employee shared plan or something. I dunno. Who cares. Keep on paying me.

Nothing else to report. Still waiting to hear on the job situation. The HR people are mulling over the info now.

That's about it for now. Dinner time.

No Sleep

Is basically what I've gotten since Friday night.

Sunday I woke up and went to church. Then ran some errands. Made it over to Dave's around 2:30 for Kailyn's bday party. See Kevin's blog for details.

Left there at 5:00 came home and headed out to Nashville at 7:00 PM. Worked on videos until 11:15. Got home at 12:39 AM and was in bed when the clock hit 12:40. Didn't even unload the car or anything.

Got up at 6:00. Worked. Blah blah blah and blah. She said something about doing something this weekend, so I guess that's where I'll probably be. Exact day is tbd.

Dropped off a bunch of RCPA DVD's from 5:00-7:00 tonight. Went to Tag's, dropped off stuff. He left at 8:45 to meet Shane in Tennessee for an exchange. He should be on his way to my house now. We have to finish up some stuff tonight... before tomorrow's delivery.

Em called tonight too. So there's a possibility that my weekend is going to be packed if she wants me to come down there like Friday. Not to mention, a possible hook up with Sarah in nashvegas, if that situation works out. This coming weekend was supposed to be a vacation.... LOL

Ok, I'm very tired.

On The Blink

Great. Woke up this morning to find that my monitor is wiggin' out. There are all these bands that are horizontal on my screen. It's like a slight shade of gray that runs the full length and are of varying thinknesses from 1/8" up to 1/2" in size.

Well I thought it was the monitor. Went and got a new 19" one for $99.00 from Office Depot. (Awesome deal on a brand new monitor!) Hooked it up, and same thing... so it must be the video card or something. I'm just too busy to deal with it now, but maybe next weekend I'll have some free time.

I didn't roll out of bed this morning until 10:30 AM. I was totally wore out after last night. Wow. Worked on this graduation video until about 4:30 and that was all I could take for today. Ate dinner, did guitar, and then headed for Huntsville at 6:45.

The Vipers game was good and they came out winning in the end. It went down to the wire. Very exciting. Forgot to mention, don't know if you saw it or not, but Shane, Jeff, and I were all over the channel 19 news coverage at last week's game. LOL Just thought I'd throw that in there for 'ya.

Saw several of the folks from last nights festivities at the game tonight. Afterwards I thought about heading to HOOTERS for the post game party, but we've just got too much to do between now and Monday.... so I came home. Plus I screwed around for 6 hours last night.... That's enough fun for me.

Right now I'm making VHS dupes off of the DVD copies. This'll be running until 1:00 I imagine. I'm going to go work on some other stuff.

For The Love Of God

… and no, I’m not referring to the Steve Vai song.

Today was average at work. Nothing out of the ordinary. I’m working through some stuff right now, and I’ll write about that next Tuesday.

OK, first of all, let me say, I really did enjoy meeting all these people tonight and I’m sure they’re really great people. But, I’m like 29, and they were all 18-24. Let me tell you, there is a lot of difference in how one lives one’s life…..

So there’s this girl I’ve been talking to for about 3 weeks now and whatever. She’s 20, and oddly, looks almost exactly like TaTa, except she is more blessed in certain areas. Yes, she’s quite attractive.

She called me at 5:00 and said her and Kristi were heading to Third Base Grill, but alas, I had just gotten in from work and I had to get some video stuff done. So I told her I’d call her in a couple hours when I got finished and stuff… because the original plan from earlier in the week was to go bowling later anyways.

After I met Tag at his house around 7:00, I headed to Madison. Met at Chris’s house. Her friend, Tiffany was already there and the 4 of us were hanging out. More people began to arrive. All in all there were about 15 people there. The only other girl I really remember well is Heather, because she’s from New Hope and is a model. Holy cow, she was smokin’ hot… and also only 20. LOL

Anyways, this meet and greet process lasted from about 7:30-9:00. Let me tell you alcohol was flowing like water through a busted Hoover Dam. The other thing was, we were watching “The Cable Guy” DVD… they were all laughing so hard they were crying… but I didn’t find it THAT funny.

“He’s madder than an Ethiopian with no legs watching a donut roll down a hill”
“She was so fat, when she stepped on the talking scale it said, “Oh F---“
“GIT IR DUN”
“That’s some funny S--- right there, no matter who you are”

Back to the alcohol. There were these strawberries that had been “pickled” (?) in moonshine. They were this hideous looking gray w/ slight tinge of red color. Anyways, she ate 2 of them… and both times about gagged. That was really lovely, let me tell you. Each was chased with a beer. Lovely.

Bowling was kewl. I didn’t bowl though. It was much more fun watching the plastered people bowl. We did play a game of air hockey. The final score was 7-5. I let her win…. Or she beat me fair and square. Whichever. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I had ordered a coke and the jackass behind the counter didn’t put one side of the lid on good, and some (quite a bit) dripped out onto my shirt. I said something out loud and Chris was like, “Good Lord man, you’re not even drinking and you’re making more of a mess than we are” …. That was pretty funny.

After bowling it was back to the house for more alcohol. A pit stop at the gas station was in order to pick up a 24-pack. We’re all standing in the kitchen, talking about what chicks can apparently do with cell phones when they are in “vibrate” mode. … and the next thing I know, people are taking their frickin’ clothes off. I was then informed, it was time to move out onto the back deck and visit the hot tub.

All kinds of drama ensued once we all got back there. One dude was getting to close to another dudes gf in the hot tub and attitudes made themselves apparent. Anyways, I left shortly after that scenario happened.

The whole point to this is…. For the love of God I still don’t understand (1) The youthful fascination with drinking so much you can’t remember anything the next day (2) Why so many absolutely hot girls drink and smoke like they’re eating treasured chocolate from Godiva.

The quote of the night has gotta be:

[following a conversation about…. brain sugeons...]
Her: “You weren’t expecting me to be like this were you?”
Me: ”ummm.. No.”

Following a close second is:
[Immediately when I walked into Chris’s house]
Chris: “Hey I’m Chris, nice to meet you… do you work in IT?”
Me: “Why do you say that? Because I’m Asian and I’m skinny?”

ROFL

Anyways, It’s almost 2:00 AM and I need to get into bed.

Workin' Workin' Workin'

Last night was incredibly busy. I was up until almost midnight finishing up the Vipers community service video spot. Tag came over around 10:30 and gave me the part of DI that he's done with. Did guitar for a measly 30 minutes and went to bed.

Dropped off the Vipers video this morning. They like it. That's good. Jeff did a good job getting the overall rapelling footage and shots of the cheerleaders, oddly.

Went to Applebee's for lunch. I've really cut back on eating out (one day a week at a major restaurant) and am saving nearly $1,000/yr as a result. Scott's heading to Hawaii for 8 days this Sunday. I'm sure he and his family will have an awesome time.

I stopped by HQ to try and get some answers about my job situation. I talked to the VP and he showed an excel sheet that indicates I'm a temp until Sept 4. I was under the impression that I was only a temp until the end of July... so now I have to go back and double check the original contract and see if I'm getting glow sticked....

On my way back from there, I visited the cute brunette that just moved into our hall. While conversing with her, another cute brunette girl carrying an EXPRESS bag walked in, and the following occured:

CB1: Did you go shopping?
CB2: No, I was going to change tops because you can see through the one I'm wearing.
[I looked to verify this information, and she was correct]
CB1: (laughing) It's not funny... but it is. It's no big deal though.
CB2: Yeah well, my dog chewed up one of my bras last night. He's also all about my underwear. I can like wrap it up and hide it and he'll find it and drag it around the house. My dog is a perv.
Me: Clearly.

Did I mention I really enjoy my job... especially since this summer hire program took effect about a month ago? ROFL

In other news, I pretty much got everything all lined up for the return NYC trip. After a ton of email traffic, everyone agreed with my plans and the excellent deals I had found so, all I need now is for their $$$$ to come my way and we're good to go.

Well it's 1:30 and the day is almost over. I still have more video work to do tonight.... season play highlights and mascot clips. Shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 hours to pull that together though.

Tuesday, July 13, 2004

They're only 16.

Good Lord. That's what I say to that. Today was another pretty slow day at the office. Met Jonathan for lunch at Ruby Tuesday's with the thought that Heather might be working today. Alas, she was not there.

As I was walking down the hall on my way out of the building this afternoon, I was casually glancing in the rooms because we've had a major re-structuring and lots of people moving around. I nocticed this one girl whom I've been chatting with lately moved to one of the rooms in my hall. I did the famous, "Turn Around", as I was actually walking at a brisk pace when I cruised by the entrance to that room.

As I'm standing in the doorway talking, and I hear these 2 voices behind me, and there are 2 more cuties sitting in a cube. I made some comment like, "Don't you guys work or anything around here." They all laughed and then Sara whispered to me, "They're only 16." I was like, "WHAT THE FREAK?" Good Lord they both looked to be in their early 20's. Anyways, we ended up chatting for about 20 minutes and I was a little late leaving, but that's ok I guess. I wanted to be gone by 3:00 PM, but it was closer to 3:20 when I left.

Came home and then headed straight to Wilson Morgan to run the track. It was hot as freak outside at 4:15 in the afternoon. Went and checked on House Insurance for some reason today with my insurance agent. Looks like that is going to run right at $1,000/year.. which is what I thought.

Looks like it's time to work on videos for a while. I'll be heading to Moulton later to eat at The Steak House around 8:00 PM.

Ciao.

This hasn't been guy tested yet....

Today was a ho-hummer of a day at the office. Since it was slow, I opted not to work overtime, and left at 3:30. Got home, scarfed some food down, and started splitting up clips from the Viper's game. Looks like I got some good stuff, hope Jeff's shots turn out decent.

Made my way to the gym around 5:45. The place was PACKED out. Holy cow man. Ended up working a little chest and back action, and did abs too. I left at 6:40 and saw that Namie had called. I gave him a buzz and he was sittin' in ATL waiting for his next flight out to LA.

Got home, got cleaned up and made my way to the Monday night gathering at the mall. Wow, there was a huge crowd there tonight. Kevin & Kailyn (sans Stacey), Scott & Stacy, Big John, Eric & Wendy and kids, H-rod from TB, Elizabeth & Emma, Dave, and then me. J-mo was at Solita's Bday dinner, and Stacey was stuck in Hamilton (where ever that is) working late.

Ate food and then walked the mall. Ran into Tania at Sears.

As we're walking out of the mall at 9:00 PM, Elizabeth is talking about this new perfume she has on. She asked me to smell of it and see what I thought. It smelled good, of course. Then Heather busts out with how she got some new Polo perfume and says, "I usually wear Victoria's Secret 'Pink', but this one hasn't been guy tested yet."

I dunno, I just found that really funny for some reason. Anyways she put some on and I sniffed, and it also smelled good. Which brings me to my point of all this... oh wait, did I have a point... oh yeah... In all my years, I've never been around a girl that didn't have good smelling perfume. I believe it's impossible to produce a bad smelling perfume for a woman. On the other hand, there is nothing worse than the smell of "Old Spice" for men. Good Lord, that's hideous.

That's about it. Right now Jeff and I are chatting online about trying to get to the beach this year. Don't know if it's going to happen or not since I'm working so much these days.

  1. Row 1 - Shots of Kailyn at Logan's, a truck that had the word "Jesus" above "Sierra" and Jeff was like, "It's a new brand of truck, "Jesus Sierra"" LOL, A plane landing at HSV as I was at the stoplight on James Record Road.
  2. Row 2 - A S-10 pick up that had rammed into the back of an 18-wheeler on the Beltline Friday afternoon, My chicken at Dread Lobster Sunday afternoon: Note the small potato, Kailyn and Heather riding a ride at the mall from tonight.
  3. Row 3 - Group shots from lunch at Dead Lobster Sunday after church.

Piso Majodo

As I walked down the hallway of my office this morning, there were several large orange colored cones with that phrase on them. I had to stop and think for a second… “What country do I live in?” I am continually amazed, as I know all of you are, at how we pander to these people (now mostly of Hispanic origins) who are here in our country, The United States of America. I am not against them being here, or anyone else being here, as long as they are here LEGALLY. There is a huge problem with this application of “dual language” to everything in our culture. This is America, we speak English. Not Spanish. Not Ebonics (refer to Bill Cosby’s recent comments, he’s 100% correct). Not. Japanese.

Glenn Beck had an extremely interesting topic today. Sex in the workplace. Or rather, how the infiltration of women into the work force has led to a surge in office affairs. It was quite interesting indeed, but I know you all heard it, so I won’t repeat it here.

And NOW … for today’s mind blowing links:

AH HA!!! You’ve been busted!!!

WoW iT's LaTe FoR mE.

Why did I type like that? Anyways, just gettin' in from an insanely busy day. I'll tell you what my friends, working 12-14 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week is pretty rough.

I do believe that I am the king of all multi-tasking (like Howard Stern is the king of all media... or something). Anyways, I had one computer rendering mp2 files for DVD burning, while I delivered videos to customers, and bought some video supplies most of the morning.

Went to the wedding this afternoon. Fortunately it was short. It started at 4:00 and was completely over by 4:15. Now, THAT's my kind of a wedding.

For some reason Tag thought it would be appropriate to bring to my attention that one of my ex-gf's was there with her husband. That was a little disturbing. He and Shane went to cover the reception at the Decatur Country Club, and I met up with Jeff and we headed to Huntsville at 5:00 for to cover Armed Forces night at the Vipers game.

Lots of people, lots of fun. Filmed a lot, and got to meet some cool people. Shane came over around 1/2 time and stayed for the last 2 quarters. Kelly was there and she was all over us, wondering why we didn't make it to the casinos in Tunica a few weeks ago... "It's Shane's fault!" ROFL

We ended up back in Decatur around 11:00 PM and went to Applebee's to eat. The food sucked big time. We all concured, that will be our last trip to Applebee's in Decatur. Shane continued to try and talk Charitah (Charity, with the EC SP voice) into moving to Nashville. That was highly entertaining.

Well, I really need to work on some these video projects, but I am just worn out. Now I know what I'll be doing all day tomorrow after church....

Let the Fun Begin

So I got in bed at 1:30 AM... woke up when my alarm went off at 5:30 AM... but didn't get out of bed. Slept in until 9:00 AM.

Got up an finished the RCPA rectial. Went to the bank, and now I'm here moving files around between HD's.

Shane's heading this way around noon, and then we gotta meet Tag at the church for the wedding at 2:30. Then it'll be off to Huntsville to film the Viper's stuff around 5:00.

Gotta go. Will post more about this excitement later.

Still a lot going on

Thursday was a blur, as I completely finished the first half of RCPA. Went to band practice after that, and then went to O'Charley's for dinner. Came home and started making the VHS copies of DI. Was able to practice guitar for almost 2 hours while that went on.

Today was slow at the office. Came home and Tag came over to get the XL1s for the rehearsal dinner tonight. I went to Wilson Morgan and ran the track. Made more VHS copies. Jeff came into town at 8:00 and hit up The Brick.

Next on tap was BAM. Ran into Namie, Ben, and Amanda up there. Also saw Brian and Amber. Good Lord, I see them around town a lot.

After that we made our way to Logan's and hung out for a bit. Now I'm home and gotta finish up some video stuff. Tomorrow is going to be just as crazy.

Just too busy to get stuff done.

There is so much going on right now and it's all work related in some form or fashion.

Got a call from the Vipers guys today and they need something special filmed Saturday, and are willing to fork over some $$$ to have it done, sooo...... after the wedding ceremony @ 4:00 PM on Saturday Jeff and I will be jetting straight to Huntsville to help them with that, leaving Tag and Shane to eat all the good food and hang out with the bridesmaids at the country club.

Got home, and finished the rough cuts on River City's recital. Deadline on that is Monday the 19th (as well as the Dancer's INC one), so less than 2 weeks to get it put together, duplicated, and labeled. There will no doubt be some long sleepless nights ahead of us.

Went to Tag's tonight and had labels made for the wedding I finished up over the weekend, and this other Viper's video that has to be mailed off tomorrow for the cheerleaders. I had a difficult time hanging out and filming them. Oh wait. LOL

Talked to Shane for about an hour tonight. Did I mention we booked the Vanderbilt Marching Band Competition this year? We've been asked to do some "special" things.... and we gotta figure out how to price that in, so I know I'll be busting up with some Excel here shortly.... Nothing like a little advanced theory of probability and human factor calculations to get the mind going at 10:00 PM.

I'm looking forward to a phat paycheck tomorrow, as I put in a lot of OT last week. That'll be nice, because my Roth IRA and Health Insurance costs were deducted from my checking account, since it's the first week of the month, not to mention car insurance is due. Good Lord, I'll never be able to afford a place of my own.

Ok, I've gotta get back to work.

Late Start

I finally made up for the complete lack of sleep I've been getting since I started working a day job again. Today, I woke up at 1:00 PM, which is when Jeff called and wanted to know what was going on tonight.

Most of the day was spent cleaning out my room... still doing that from llike 2 months ago. Threw out 2 more bags of stuff. I also have like dozens of Maxim and Stuff magazines, from when Jeff got me that subscription. LOL Gotta throw all those out.

Interesting items found today:

  • Receipts from Mardi Gras 2001, receipts from NYC 2003, receipts w/ little love notes from Erin. Threw all that crap away.
  • Pictures from I don't know when. I'm trying to figure out why I have a pic of Jeff in the ocean and a pic of him and Bobbie. Also found pics from the infamous Kevin trip to Opryland Hotel. As a result of that, and -the incident- last night at Point Mallard, I watched the FRIENDS video I created for everyone last year involving the Opryland hotel trip.
  • Also ran across pics of Leslie. I immediately popped 2 Zoloft. What?

I thought Jeff was coming into town and we were gonna hang out, but he never materialized in our airspace, so I was just gonna work on videos. Checked my AIM and Kevin said we were all meeting at the Guad tonight at 6:30 PM, so we did that. Namie was going to his sister's otherwise, he would have been there.

Hit up Parisians, and got another pair of swim trunks (in preparation for an upcoming beach trip) and a "Padded Blanket In A Bag". Due to my lack of foresight, I really could have used that last night at Point Mallard. So I'm following the new boyscout motto, "Be Prepared... for the next time."

I'm going to bed now, after being up for 9 hours.

Today's Media:

Celebrating Freedom

Sunday turned out to be a pretty jam packed day, even though I didn't have anything planned.

Church went well and had a good crowd in spite of the holiday upon us. Cruised home and ate lunch with the folks. Made my way to Dave's house around 2:45 for some swimming action. Left, came home and worked on a dance recital for a while. Turned on the TV at 7:00 and ID4 was on, so I watched part of that.

Ended up hitting Point Mallard around 9:00 PM. It was packed out. Saw H-rod from The Brick there with her dog, and then this other dude who like I think has come to church a couple times, and is a friend of the Prevatt bros. Traffic wasn't too bad. Ended up at Steak and Suck on the Beltline afterwards.

Here's some media for you.

Here we have Kevin's video game setup, and a couple of shots of the fireworks show at Point Mallard.

Excuse me, is that an envelope you're holding?

FRIDAY RECAP
After work, I went to Wilson Morgan and ran the track. Then I went to the gym and did arms. Jeff came into town around 7:45 and we did the Friday night billiards thing at the Brick. Ran into Corey Hargrove up there and the new band he's in "Huzz Your DaddY" or something like that. The ex-guitar player from Sister Luck is also in this band. Made our way to Logan's after that. I screwed up and didn't sit with Brandie again this weekend. I am in big time trouble with her... or she doesn't really care. Whichever. The dude we sat with knew about our free food policy though, so that was good.

SATURDAY RECAP
Got up at 8:00 AM and worked on video stuff until 1:30 PM, which is when Jeff got into town from work. Hit up Applebee's for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. Sat at the bar with Davina. Bef, Jade, Davin's cousin (name?), and Holly were there.

Went to Wilson Morgan for tennis after that. Got rained on hard for like 10 minutes, but continued to play, along with everyone else, right through it. Yes, we were troopers... as soon as I convinced Jeff to step away from the fence that was shielding him from the rain. LOL Ended up getting back to the house a little after 4:00 PM.

Jon IM'ed me and said he and Solita were going to see Spiderman 2 at the Carmike in Huntsville at 7:00, so I rode over there with them at 6:00. While in line to get tix, I noticed Solita was pulling the coin out of a white envelope. We all know what that means. Dave Ramsey in da house! Rock on. She's been listening to him for like 2 years. Excellent.

The movie was very good. Much better than the first one, which was good too, so I won't spoil anything for you. Headed to McAlister's for food, and then over to Barnes and Noble.

And now.... for the much anticipated weekly media:

  1. Thursday - Thomas Lang and Kyle at the drum clinic in Nashville
  2. Thursday - Jon, Chris, and Kusi in line for autographs
  3. Friday - Jeremy at lunch at McAlister's Deli thinking...
  4. Saturday - Davina looking like she's working
  5. Saturday - Jon's $8.65 food at the theater
  6. Saturday - Solita's $7.00 food at the theater
  7. Saturday - A horse in a trailer next to us on 6th ave.

Oh, tonight was the first time I've been out to a movie in months... it's frickin' $8.00 to get in now. Good Lord that's a lot. I guess when you figure that I only go 2x a year max... that's like $16.00/365 days that's only $0.0438, so that's not too bad I guess.

And what is the deal with food prices at these places? It's like they run their own little country in there, that is exempt from all bounds of normal food item pricing. I can't believe Jon paid over $8.00 for a little thing of nachos and a medium coke.

Ok bedtime now.

Surprise!

Jeremy just called, he drove into Decatur around 5:00 AM. So now we’ve got someone else to hang out with on this weekend of celebration of our Independence. I wish he would have gotten in yesterday because he probably could have gone to the drum clinic.

Yesterday’s Recap.

Left Decatur at 3:45 PM. Dropped off some stuff at Shane’s house, and then proceeded to Famous Dave’s BBQ for a cornucopia of tasty pork treats. Turns out Jenny had given us slightly incorrect directions on how to get to the drum clinic, but after realizing we were heading to like Kentucky on 24 west, we turned around and got on 24 east. Arrived at 6:45, just as the announcer got on stage. Perfect timing.

Man that show was absolutely sick. Thomas Lang was the dude on showcase. Just imagine if Arnold S. was a drummer… that’s what it was like listening to Thomas talk (Austrian accent). It was kinda funny because I was running in my mind, the skit of “Hanz and Franz” from SNL. Anyways, his limb independence was simply amazing, and his double bass technique was insane.

What I loved about the whole thing was, the Q and A portion when the crowd was asking Q’s. Thomas would go into this long answer with examples and conclude with “and so forth and so on” just like Arnold S. always says. The other common comment was, “Practice this in all possible time signatures with all possible sticking combinations.” and “Just play that for long periods of time.”

I was telling Jon it’s like when I read stuff from Vai and Satch it’s the same thing, “Practice these patterns in all keys using all possible finger combinations.” What it boils down to is, if you’re not spending at least 3 hours a day practicing your instrument, you’ll never become proficient at it.

Well there is a lot of media as we were taking pictures and video like we were from Japan and it was our first time in New York City. Those will be posted later today.

we were busting with excitement as we anxiously prepared for our first trip to the Big Apple.

For those of you who are fortunate to have a copy of the 2 disc FRIENDS DVD set that I put together containing video footage from our lives since the year 1998, you can view video from the trip on that.

Not a whole lot going on so far this morning. Looking forward to the drum clinic in Nashville tonight. I'm expecting to meet some famous drummers. LOL I'm sure there will be a lot of media I'll post here tomorrow.
