I guess we just have the look

Today went pretty well. Went by the bank at 10:45 to get some cash and then it was off to the meeting... finally after so much banter.

We’re walking into the store and she see’s someone she knows and they’re like, “When did you get married?” Apparently we look really good together.....or we're really good at acting like we're married... Maybe it’s a sign from God… or just a meaningless observation by a stranger. Either way, she's a hottie, so it all works out. Not that I'm purely superficial or anything, but hey, I'm a guy. What'd you expect?

We walked over to another store and back to the games section. She bought Twister as a housewarming gift for a friend. Then, all I could think about was the Lake House trip. Before I knew it, it was 1:00, and time to come back to work. Bummer.

Oh, the more I thought about this, the more disturbed I became… we talked about marriage and weddings. I was amazed at the cornucopia of knowledge I’ve amassed since we started filming weddings. To know so much about it, but not be married, that’s frickin’ bizarre. I’m like a walking freak show over here.

Laughter and Concern.
On the way back from lunch, I saw a guy walking in the grass. Next thing I knew he was laying on the ground. He had tripped, or stepped in a hole, or something. At first I laughed, as it is always funny when people fall down. But then, I was like, “Hmmm I hope he’s ok.” As I sped by, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw him getting up and brushing the grass off his clothes.

Trim Job
This afternoon I went upstairs to talk about some work issues with those people. While there, the cute brunette I see around sometimes, was scanning in stuff at the computer. She smiled and said hi. She always waves or says hi and seems to have a glowing personality, accompanied by a smoking body. I noticed her hair was cut short and highlighted with red and blonde. It looked really cool. Speaking of haircuts, I got one at 4:00 PM today.

That's quite the tent you've pitched there.
I went by Office Depot tonight and picked up a 128 MB USB 2.0 memory key for $18.00. They also had 60GB 7200 RPM HD's for frickin' $18!!!!!!!! That is insane in the membrane!

After waiting in the drive-thru at Burger King for 12 minutes, I got my #10 medium value meal for $3.92.

Then it was off to Tag's where we set up our new tent/gazebo/canopy thing for this weekend. He's going to be making some custom LMV signs and stuff for it. This thing rocks.

It looks like we'll be taking credit/debit cards now too, as Shane is working out the kinks as I type. We are expanding rapidly while continuing to be one of the most recognized Video Production houses in North Alabama. When I look back at how much we've progressed since we started back in 1999, it's simply amazing. To be so well known and respected amongst the video community is truly an honor. Thank You! :)

It's getting late and I must sleep at some point.

Daily funnies
Her: He likes to hug me, he’s so short, his head ends up right here [points at her chest]
Me: Clever…. [E.G.] hahahaha

Her: This is Kyle, he shoots porn videos with his friends.
Me: Hi, nice to meet you.

Me [on phone]: So she doesn’t want to do it this weekend?
Her [overhears, grinning]: She doesn’t want to be in the porno this weekend??
Me: It’s not a porn video…
[several ladies in the purse section look up at us]
Her: I want to be in a porn video.
Me: [wtf look] Ok…

Her [looking at jewelry]: This is nice…. Eww… a belly button ring.
Me: Is your belly button not pierced?
Her: What? You think just because I have a tattoo, that I have a belly button ring too?”
Me: No, I was just wondering. Good Lord. Reeeearrrrrrrrr.
Her: They’re so trashy, I’d never get one of those.
Me: I agree.

Need A New Car?... Who's That Girl?

Anyone who can explain to me, exactly what is going on with this automobile sale will win a prize of my choosing. In case you're wondering, I found that while surfing blogs today. Here is the original link on how I got there... check out the post from 3 days ago.

I just thought it was ironic that something along those lines was the topic for discussion during lunch. Now that we've got that out of the way...

After church we went to lunch at this new place called, "El Portal" over there by Food World on the Beltine. They got a 99 health rating. Likewise the checker-outer-chick scored a 99/100 on the hotness scale.

So I'm sitting there eating my enchilada's and rice, and in walks this cute blonde. She smiles and kinda waves as she goes to sit at the table beside us. Naturally, I'm like.. "Who the is that?" So we're sitting there for like an hour, Me, J-Mo, Elizabeth, and Meredith trying to figure out who she is. Because she looks familiar to all of us. (.... and God Forbid anyone just lean over and say, "Hi... where do I know you from?" )

I recalled one episode about 6 months ago, when we were in BAM, and were sitting in the chairs there by the kids section. Kailyn and Emma were playing and this kid came running past us to play with them, and "his mom" came and got him. Well the cute blonde girl was his mom or whatever.

J-mo recalled that as well, and then E and M said she worked at Dillard's at the salon. The puzzle was starting to come together. Since my encounter with her at BAM, I've seen her out around town a few times, including once at Logan's about 2 months ago, and she always waves at me. As we were checking out, I was thinking "Good Lord I need to find out who she is." J-mo was like, "Just go over there and ask her."

So I stepped out of line, as I was preparing to talk to the 99/100 girl because we had been trading smiles and eye contact all through lunch, and walked back to the table where the blonde was sitting. ALL questions were answered.

Her name is Tiffany and I know her from...............

where else but............

Applebee's.

She was a hostess there like 3 or 4 years ago.

Mystery solved. I can sleep at night now.

At church group tonight, we watched a Godsmack DVD that J-mo brought. It was pretty entertaining.

Kevin and Stacey had let their dog inside the house... it's a big dog. I'll give you 3 guesses as to what popped into my head when I saw the dog running inside the house. The person who correctly guesses first, will get their next meal paid for by me... or just get a mention on my website. One of the two.

I've decided I'm not buying any more music gear. No more :

Mesa/Boogie amps
Carvin amps
Ibanez guitars
Fender guitars
Yamaha synths
Korg synths
TC Electronic rack fx
DOD fx pedals
etc

I figure Blind Bart will be getting official sponsors from these manufacturers soon enough....

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Blind Bart - Big Spring Jam 2005! BE READY!

Ok, I gotta get in the bed. Tomorrow is going to be a great day... or just another day, whichever.

I'm sure I would have

been productive today, if I had woken up before noon... but I didn't so I didn't get much done.

Jon called about 12:30 and we hit up McCrapald's for lunch. I came home and cleaned house a bit and played guitar.

Went to dinner at Cracker Barrel with the folks for their 33rd anniversary.

Came home and screwed around. Jeff came into town about 8:00 and we hit up Books A Million and Crapplebee's. The Leatherman was working and came out of the back towards the end of our meal, At which point I hurled all over the bar. Somehow Jeff managed to continue eating.

That's about it for today. I'm going to bed.

Nightly Funnies
"If I was going to go on a shooting rampage, this would be a good place to start'
"Once I get past, "I saw your video" I'm not going to have anything else to say to her"
"Did you get your Nintendo fixed yet?"

Hang on while I

burn my clothes. This is the latest I've been up in a long time. Working the funky hours that I do, it makes it hard for me to be out past 10:00 PM.

Interesting sight of the evening as I was leaving the bar: a guy and a girl getting out of the backseat of a car in the parking lot.... making adjustments to their clothing.... hmmm. What would make them do such a thing?? Could it be.... SATAN? (Old Saturday Night Live skit with Dana Carvey as 'the church lady')

Well Jeff fell asleep on the couch apparently so I went to The Brick at 7:00 to check out the action and grab a bite to eat. Hung around until about 9:00 when Jeff called and said he wanted to go eat. So we hit up Logan's. After that it was back to The Brick.

It was good to see everyone again, and to meet associated new people.

I know I've said this before, but I find it ironic that I go to these bars to meet people.... I meet them.. but can't carry on a conversation because it's so frickin' loud in there. It's like a social oxymoron.

In other news, I was able to confirm tonight that Jawana did get a new job in April. She works for the P.O. now. I was like, "I knew I saw you driving a mail truck that day!" LOL

Lesa and company were up there as I was leaving. See my previous statement 2 P's above.

Oh, everyone say Hi to Janis. She informed me tonight, she found my website, somehow. LOL

Ok I must get in the bed before I pass out in this chair from all the alcohol I drank tonight... or didn't drink. Whichever.

Nightly Funnies
Matt: "Do you have any vices? You don't drink or smoke, and I've never heard you use bad langugage."
Me: "No. No vices here."
Mattt: "You're the only person I like who's not a smart a$$."
Me: "Thanks... I think." LOL

There were others, but they escape me at the moment.

The Assignment

You know how, when you first start dating a girl, you'll give her like some kind of an assignment to see how dependable she is and things of that nature.

Well I gave my first assignemt today, so we'll see how that goes. I gave her all weekend to get me an answer. Bonus points awarded for getting back to me before Monday. LOL

Looks like Whitey Herzog and Bishop Black are doing a gig at The Brick tonight, so I'm fixing to run by the studio and then head that way to par-tay like it's 1999. Rock on.

Marching to the beat

.. of a different drum… clearly.

Morning
Breakfast
(1) Oatmeal Crème Pie, (1) Bottled water

Why do troops march together? On my way back from lunch, I got behind a squad who was marching down one of the roads on the arsenal. C’mon, it’s not like in the heat of battle you stay in formation. “Could you guys please hold your fire until we’ve had a chance to break formation and find cover?” ROFL

Afternoon
Lunch
(1) Bacon Double Cheeseburger, (1) med fries, (1) med coke

Day After Hump Day

Thanks to Lesa for snapping this pic. Here you can see my sweet little tone factory... Man I love that rack.

First, a quick recap from yesterday… Got home from work yesterday and played video games most of the evening. Good Lord I never thought I’d be saying that. LOL Met up with Jon and the Soon To Be Family Of 4 (STBFO4) at Ruby Tuesday’s. As luck would have it, we got seated in some idiot’s section who jacked up the food orders. On the other hand, the girl working the tables behind us was quite attractive, so that made up for it. I guess. Somehow. Jon’s parents went back to the Philippines yesterday, so he’s got the house to himself for a few more years. Must be nice… Looks like Blind Bart will be playing at Big Spring Jam 2005. We don’t really have a choice now, because yesterday I told Moriah we were playing there next year. Wooooooooooooooooooooo. On my way into the office this morning, I saw 2 jets flying in almost the same path. The second jet was lagging the first jet by a mile or so. I’ve never seen anything like that before. It was pretty cool. At some point this morning, I dozed off in my chair with my hand on the mouse, because I was awoken when I slammed the mouse down during some kind of REM twitch. ROFL.

Went over to Dicks sporting goods to check out those tent things. They are off sale now. A friend of a friend works there, so I’m going to see if I can get a discount hook up.

After work I actually drug my lard a up to the gym to work out a bit. I’ve gotta get back into some kind of routine for the love of Pete. Slacker! Jeff rolled into town around 7:30 and we hit up The Brick for some billiards action. After nearly 2 months… we haven’t lost a bit. I guess it’s like learning to ride a bike. On the way out, ran into Braswell and Pat. Gotta make them some more DVD’s. Ty was just getting to the gym as we were leaving The Brick. I’ll tell you what she’s a really nice girl. I was standing there talking to her, and found out she has frickin’ 3 cars. Good Lord. Camaro, Yukon, Accord. Quite the line up. LOL Hit up Applebee’s. Nothing going on there. Jon said my new set of in-ear monitors came in today. He also hooked me up with a Gmail account… so I have yet another email account. I think I’m up to 7 email accounts now. Well tomorrow is Friday, so we all know what that means!

Nightly Funnies
“You know I hate it when those clouds start throwing those spikey things out”
“Look! It’s the Menendez brothers!”
“I threw a grenade and picked up a gas can, and then the helicopter came and picked me up.” “Wow you’ll have to show me that”

What a slacker

I didn't do anything all day.

Came home from work, surfed the net, sat on the couch and then watched Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring for the 3rd time. ... just getting done with that. It's still early. Gotta go find something to do.

The Monday Blah’s (amended @ Evening)

Breakfast: (1) Oatmeal Cream Pie, (1) Bottled water

The more I think about how the sound crew’s decision to use Line-Out’s from Kevin and Scott’s amps, the more I wish they would have insisted on being mic’ed. Going direct never produces a good tone. We all know that. Oh well.

Morning
Today was pretty slow at the office. Most of the morning was spent on the phone and emailing. If I didn’t know better, I’d say I was taking part in a B.O.R (Budding Office Romance) … but I know that is not the case.

Excerpt

Her: It seems like most of the time when I want to go out or when I’m at his house, all he wants to do is play SOCOM.
Me: What is that?
Her: It’s a video game about Navy Seals
Me: So you’re telling me, he’d rather play a video game than spend time with you.
Her: Yeah, he’s such a jackass. I hate him. He’s so immature. All we did this weekend was fight.

When I hear these kinds of statements uttered by girls who are really cute about their “boyfriends”, it makes me want to drive my car into a gas station at full speed.

So what would you do if you had to choose between playing a video game or spending time with a cute girl? I look forward to your comments.

Afternoon
Lunch: (1) Southwest Steak Skillet, (1) Sweet Tea

This is freaky. On my way to lunch today I thought 2 things: (1) I haven’t seen Bailey in a few weeks (2) I haven’t Valerie in several months.

I pulled into the parking lot and Bailey’s BMW was there. That immediately put me into a better mood. We were sitting there chit chatting and she mentioned she was working a 12-hour shift today (she’s like a pharmacist) and dude across the way starts trying to get into the conversation. I’m like, “Good Lord man… can’t you see I’m busy here.” –sigh- Shortly after that, Val came in. Two for two today.. not to shabby.

You know, it's really difficult to point when you're holding a guitar pick.

Evening
Jeff rolled into town around 7:30 PM tonight. We hit up Rhino games. Turns out the used power adapter he bought for the ol' NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) 8-bit did not work. What a shock. No pun intended.

While Jeff exchanged the power supply, I was looking through the selection of 8-bit NES titles and came across the game Dragon Warrior!! I was stoked and it was only $2.99. Dragon Warrior II was $34.99 and Dragon Warrior III was $24.99. WOW That's some silver and gold for a couple nintendo games.

My NES hasn't been working, so I gotta take it apart and go dig around and do some troubleshooting still. They guy at the store gave me some pointers on what to look for.

After that it was off to Crapplebee's for 1/2 price Monday night appetizers and Monday night football!! ... or just the 1/2 price appitizers. Not much going on. Bef is still preggers. Tonya and Charitah were there as well. They were kinda busy tonight.

Now I'm home and must sleep.

Nightly funnies:
[Inside the store]
"Well... I'm somewhat of a collector of NES games. I have over 450 titles and 3 systems."
[outside the store]
"Well we know why he's still single... 27 years old, working at a video game store, collecting nintendo games. Now as to why we are still single... No idea."

"That looks like Jack and Jill over there."
"That's definately Jill, I recognize the back of her head."

Thanks to Everyone!!

Today was an awesome day! ^_^

We (Blind Bart) appreciate everyone coming out and supporting us today at Riverfest in Decatur. It was the largest show we've done in a while... or ever. Be sure and check your local news stations (WHNT-19, WAAY-31, and WAFF-48) because you may see us on there... and if you miss out, DVD's will be for sale of the performance. They'll be worth a lot of money someday.... or less than you paid for it today, one of the two. haha

A special shout out to Dabney for driving all the way from Murfreesboro to hang out with us this weekend. The band members would also like to give a MEGA HUGE thank you to Philip from Sister Luck for getting the PA to sound right! Thanks man! I'd also like to give props to the Eric Rhodes Band. (ERB) You guys were awesome and thanx for the compliments!

Daily Funny:
ERB member to J-mo: "Wow, I see you broke out the JEM.. cool!"
J-mo: "I'm the drummer... that's the other Asian guy, I know we look a lot alike."

Wooooooooooooooooooo. Good one man.

Retro-Moment: You know how they say everything happens for a reason. Well if we would have played the show yesterday as originally planned, Phil would not have been there to mix the sound due to prior obligations. Hence, it would have really blown. But since we played today, he was able to make it sound good. cool.

I can not believe Monday is almost here already. I'm going to go relax and watch a little TV. I'm exhausted.

ON the way

Met up with J-mo at McDonlad's for 'lunch'. All I had was a $1 cheeseburger and water. They frickin' charge $0.25 for a glass of water at Rockin' McDonald's on the Beltline. Needless to say, I was not happy about that. Of course, I'm not like Shane though, so I didn't make a big deal out of it to the cashier and all the people around me.

Things went pretty well at practice this afternoon. It should be a good show tomorrow. Dabney paid us a surprise visit as we were finishing up. Cruised over to Wendy's and grabbed a bite to eat. While there, Allison had called Jeremy, and next thing we knew, she was like pulling into the parking out. There was some kind of surprise afoot as she waved him to come out to the car....

Turns out she had just bought what I will refer to as a "Taco Bell" puppy. (The Andersons have one as well I beleive). That led to the following quote, which for some reason, I thought was really funny.. or disturbing:

"He's going to be crapping all over your floor you know."
"He'd better not..."

I dunno, there's just something funny (or really sick) about dogs leaving presents all over the floor of ones house. Not that any of us have ever been to a house where that goes on.

In other news, I think I'm going to go watch TV now.

Great.....

So the first call I received this morning was from JS inquiring about the new time for our show. (I'm glad he called because I forgot to include him on the email yesterday)

He's going to be in session with Bishop Black tomorrow afternoon, but is going to try and get them all to come up at 3:00 PM and watch us play at Riverfest.

No Pressure.

LOL

More Riverfest & college flashbacks.

Had a pretty good time chillin' out this evening. Worked on some of the set list for the show, then made a trip to see what was going on at Jeminson's. Jon, Eric, Kevin and associated families were all there.

Our waitress was really peppy and attitude-y (if that's a word)... kinda like Brandi from Logan's. LOL I ordered a sandwich, and it was ok... it was big, I'll give them that. We ate and then checked out the stage... it's about 5 feet in the air, and on a pretty decent grade. I forsee may cab rolling off onto the ground.

As I was leaving, I noticed a big SUV thing had pulled right up to the door and this really hot brunette girl got out of the passenger side... I walked behind the vehicle and saw this dude get out. I stopped and stared for a second because he looked familiar... then it hit me, it was Kirk C. Man I haven't seen him in years.

We had a bunch of classes at Calhoun, Athens State, and UAH together. He studied ChemE and then went on to become a physical therapist and as he told me tonight, he opened up his own practice in McMinville, TN. I forgot that he had married Tara S. I graduated with her brother, Brian, in 1993 from Austin.

Anyways, they're in the BBQ competition at Riverfest this weekend. I told him we were playing on Sunday and they're gonna try and make it over to watch. Excellent. Overall , I've invited nearly 50 people today.

After that fun, we all headed over to The Brick. It was the first time I've been to The Brick in 5 weeks. It was good to see everyone there again! ... After paying the $5 cover... which I was not happy about naturally. It was me, Eric, and Jon, and we met up with Jon's friend Lesa(?) and 6 ot 7 of her girlfriends. One of them was really cute, and, "my size" (ie Liz's size) but I failed to get her name. The band was playing a lot of like older classic metal tunes Van Halen, GNR, etc. I was having flashbacks to like my frickin' middle school-early college years. LOL

Ran into Preston and Sommer on the way out. Haven't seen either of them in a while. Looks like Bishop Black is playing up there in a few weeks. I imagine I'll be there for that.

That's all for now, I'm going to go to bed. Tomrorrow is going to be a busy day.

Riverfest, Decatur Alabama

Event: Riverfest
Date: Sunday September 19, 2004
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

I would like to invite all my readers to come check out the show. It should be a fun time, and you'll get to see me on stage! Isn't that exciting?!?!

Join me, 40 of my closest friends, and everyone else's friends from Huntsville, Decatur, Cullman, and surrounding areas at this proverbial rock fest.

Conversation
Me: "Hey I'm playing at noon at Riverfest on Saturday, you should come out if you're free"
Her: "I'd love to come see your band, but I've got a baby shower at noon on Saturday."

Me (as I get into my car): "That's about the lamest excuse I've ever heard."

Relax

You can all relax. I made it home from work safely today!

We got 59, + I worked through lunch, so technically my day was over at 2:00 PM.

It was as windy as a mother driving home. Apparently it got bad down around Bham and Tuscaloosa, with cars getting blown off the roads in 70 mph winds.

Obviously not much is going to be going on for the next couple days with this whack weather.

I'm gonna go geta flashlight... there's a high probability power will go out tonight.

Be safe!

Hurricane Ivan notes

It'll be here before you know it...

My ex-gf is going to school in Pensacola. I called her tonight and couldn't get through. I'll have to try again later. Hope she's ok.

Talked to another ex who lives in Bham a little while ago, and she said it was pretty crazy down there.

On my way home, I stopped at the gas station in Priceville, and it was full up at 5:00 PM... with cars from Florida!

It's 10:00 PM and I gotta get in bed. I've got the go-ahead to work from home tomorrow/Friday if it gets bad.

Let me drill around your face

Today started off with a fantastic trip to the dentist at 8:00 AM for my bi-yearly cleaning. Everything looked good… especially the girl taking the folders at the counter as I was leaving.

Doc: You talked to Jon lately? He still single?
Me: I think he’s still single… we’re in the same boat
Doc: Sometimes it’s better to be in the boat than in the water

Amen to that! . . . I think.

I know you all got a kick earlier when Glen was talking about giving Benedryl to kids to get them to sleep. One lady called in and said Bendryl with Motrin works well too. I just thought it was a joke when J-mo was talking about giving it to kids to make them quiet… but it turns out everyone does it.

Speaking of kids, Sara recently inquired about my thoughts on starting a family. I told her I was content not having kids for the time being, and enjoying living vicariously, in that respect, through my friends that already have kids. I’m about as close to having kids as Ivan is to Connecticut.

Hurricane Ivan will be paying us a visit in the next day or two. It’ll be interesting to see how much rain and wind we get. This morning my dad was on the roof putting some sealant around the chimney and Scratchy climbed up the ladder and was walking around on the roof! What a crazy cat. Who let the cat up! Who Who Who Who… Who let the cat up. Who Who Who Who

Crank it to 4. That’s what I did with the Legacy last night… after running the FX send/return through the G-Force so I could control the overall output level. The lead tone at 4 is pretty good, but the clean channel got a little less crisp. More tweaking. I’m still not satisfied with the lead channel fully. While the distortion is excellent for rhythm and chording, I can’t get good “smooth and sticky” sustain out of it that I like for legato playing. I hooked up the DS-1 and of course that helped, but once again more tweaking is required.

Had an uneventful lunch today. Did the music store and hit up Chic Fil A. Managed to keep busy at this office this afternoon, between talking to Sara, tracking down Tiffany, visiting with Mindy, and watching Hurricane Ivan on weather.com.

Not much else going on in Decaturville.

I won!!! I won!!!!

Kyle won the election last night!

Kyle likes to win!

Kyle very happy!

(You should immediately recognize that as a spin off from the classic Seinfeld, "Jimmy")

Anyways, Don Kyle won last night and so did Ray Metzger. I voted for them both. All we can hope now is they do their best to follow through on cutting our taxes and controlling spending for the city... instead of giving us a glow stick surprise.

Oprah

Obviously, the big news of the weeke has been Oprah and her giving away $7 million on her TV show. That's a lot of prizes right there....

During lunch yesterday, I was turning into the Chic Fil A parking lot and heard a car honk at me. I rolled down the window and was preparing to give the international single finger peace sign, when I realized it was Moriah. LOL Shortly thereafter she gave me a call and we had a nice little chat.

I spotted this new furniture store and Matt said he thought they had nice furniture, so I went in and checked it out. They did have pretty nice stuff. As I drove by Applebee's, I saw a girl standing on the corner waving and holding a sign. The sign was for a new sub sandwich place named "Lenny's". Might have to check that out.

Interesting conversation from the Furniture store:
Me - I'm just looking and getting some ideas for what I might like.
Her - Good idea, the rooms can come in so many different shapes and sizes!

I dunno what kind of house she lives in, maybe a funhouse, but last time I checked rooms are generally rectangular in shape...

I know everyone heard the lady caller into Dave yesterday where her husband was ridiculing her for trying to get onto Dave's program. Turns out they have been married for 9 years and he has never treated her with respect and dignity. The main theme in Ephesians 5 is "Submit to one another"... not "Let the man disrespect and be a jerk to his wife" (or vice versa). It's not a Christian activity necessarily. It's common sense. Treat your woman with respect. The whole "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" principle.

Clearly, how one treats a mate is an indication of emotional and spiritual maturity. Which brings me to the question that has never been answered, "Why do women go out with these jerks who treat them like a piece of meat or like they are worthless?" I know 2 girls right now who are dealing with this.... One of whom is going through a divorce because of it, and the other who constantly complains that her bf is a jerk and an idiot. It just blows my mind... especially since they are both incredibly attractive.

Not much else going on... waiting to see the results of the run-off elections last night. On an unrelated note, I saw that 48 had a news anchor in Mobile this morning covering Ivan, and she is pretty hot. lol

Here's a reason why

I won't be moving out anytime in the near future... I keep buying stuff like this right here:

Why do I need 2 hot rodded guitar systems? I dunno. I don't. The Legacy just set me back 2-months on any plans for getting a house. (If I decide to keep it) The Mesa Boogie rack on the left only has a 20-watt power amp, which normally I don't put above 2/10 for "in the house" and about 4/10 max when playing live.... With the Legacy, the 1 is like a 3 on the Mesa. Of course, the Legacy is 100W too...

In other news, I didn't get jack accomplished at work today. For lunch, Matt and I hit up Applebee's. I haven't been there in nearly 2 weeks in Huntsville... and about 3 or 4 in Decatur. Now you see why I've stopped eating out so much... to pay for the new rig.

I'll be eating the proverbial rice and beans... beans and rice (or just raman) for a while.

Tonight went up to the mall and did the usual. It was fun. No more sales at Dilliards. Jeff's woman, Jane, was working tonight. Ran into Sarah at FYE. She got her hair cut short... but as The A-team informed her... that had no adverse affects on her great bootay. Also had a nightly funny involving Penii. (I think TaTa knows something about that... I'm not even sure what that means. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo!) Anyways, she moves next week, and will no longer be my neighbor. Sucky :(

Ok... here's my question, why was there a slot machine in Parisians?

Ok, I got things to do now. Obviously.

How Long Can You Last?

It's been a while since I've been on here. Things have been super busy at the office with some flight safety part issues. Nights have been packed full between video editing and band practices.

September 11, 2001
In other news, today is the 3rd anniversary of 9-11... let us all take a moment and say a prayer for those families who lost loved ones in this tragic event.

Are You Ready For Some Morons?
I have to start off with this from Friday morning.

The best thing about this time of year is... FOOTBALL!!!

What's even better than football is "MORON TRIVIA". Glenn Beck plays this game where he calls gas station attendants in the cities where the 2 competing NFL teams are from. A series of 'common knowledge' questions are asked, and I am always amazed at some of the answers these people give. (Tune in weekday mornings on AM800 from 8:00AM-10:00AM)

Here's the game from Friday morning. Please take the time to read this table, and LOOK at the answers these people give... The one in the 3rd quarter about, "I before E, except after..... " was just hilarious.

On to everything else that happened yesterday
So how long can you last.... without sleep? I was up for 24 hours straight yesterday (Friday). Why? I'm glad you asked. It's simple, I woke up at 6:00 AM like I do on every day to go to work. Worked until the early afternoon, went in and got my paycheck, hung out with Moriah, and then got a haircut.

At 7:00 PM, a trip to Birmingham happened. Ended up leaving there at midnight. I was driving back and had passed Gardendale, when I came upon cars which were stopped on Interstate 65 Northbound. Cars were in front of me as far as the eye could see, and they were quickly lining up behind me.

We stayed stopped on the interstate.... until 5:00 AM... yes my friends, I was in a traffic jam from 12:45 AM to 5:00 AM... 4 hours and 15 minutes. I got home at 6:00 AM this morning.

I stopped at exit 304 in Cullman to let the flood gates open, and on the way out asked the attendant lady what had happened on the road. Turns out an 18 wheeler had hit a tour bus, and the tour bus had exploded.... That happened at 9:00 PM, and they didn't get everyone out, and the stuff cleared until 3:45 AM.

As I'm sure some of you are thinking right now... yes, I was like John Kerry having a bad day on the house floor.

It sux it happened to those people. But, it would have been easy to close one southbound lane, so north bound traffic could be routed across the median at one of those turn around places, and gone around the wreck.

Template Change

I think I got everything back up and working here. Alas, I could not get blogger comments to work with the new format, so I went back to using HaloScan comments.

I gotta get in bed.

Non-Labor Day

Ended up hanging out at Kevin's house until almost like midnight last night. Large turn out and it was pretty fun.

Didn't get up this morning until almost noon. It was a beautiful day outside. I was tempted to call up some people for a round of tennis, but I decided to work on a wedding video instead.

{Rant On}
On my way to the usual Monday night gathering, I was listening to the radio, and John Stossell (sp) was doing a story on how families feel the need to have both parents (aka dual income) working in order to survive.

All of the interviews I heard were people saying, "We both work because we want xxxxxx." Clearly, these people need to get a handle on their emotions and set some priorities, especially when there are children involved. I for one, do not believe having both parents working full time, while trying to raise a kid or two, is a good thing.
{Rant Off}

Hooked up with the group for the Monday night Mexican extravagannnnnza. Made a quick run around the mall. Dillards is having another insane 75% off sale, so I hooked up with more clothes. $38.00 for 3 Murano and 1 Claiborne shirts... not bad at all. Ran into Parisian. Linda was working tonight. It's odd because Susan signed my guestbook recently. It's like a frickin' TCBS reunion here.

Went over to EBGames near Publix after the mall. Ran into Braswell there... buying an Xbox. LOL I told the story about Jeff's nintendo, and we all had a good laugh. What a great system.

After that it was off to Publix for abit, then over to Kevin's to get his guitar so I can take it, along with mine, to Tommy tomorrow for a setup.

Now it's time for some picture updates. Enjoy!

More problems at church.

We had another large turnout. Near seat shortage. The music was absolutely rockin' and everything seemed to go off without a hitch, except for that 3rd song that I didn't know the chords to.

Yesterday, I had to charge batteries on my way to Nashvegas. I've got my inverter, outlet strip, and all these cables and stuff on my passenger side. It's a good thing I didn't get like pulled over because it looked like I had a car bomb in my front seat with all the things blinking and stuff. LOL

Got to Shane's house and I spent some time with my phone, emailing people and stuff while I waited for him to get ready. Ended up leaving and visiting the new Guitar Center at 100 Oaks mall, where I saw the following

A $15,000 Martin acoustic guitar
Yes, that is an expensive guitar.

I guess one thing to make a note of... when you have a job to go to, make sure you know how to get there before you leave your home. We were hit with a case of "Old Timers" when neither of us could remember how to get to The Temple. It's a good thing we left an hour early.

The shoot went off without a hitch, and the band was really good. The guitar player was playing a PRS Custom 24 thru a Bogner head and rack with a compressor and a TC Electronic GForce. Very nice, and a great sound.

We headed out of the party at 10:45 PM and went to try and find some food. Good Lord, even in Nashville, most everything closes at 11:00 PM on Saturday night.... except for Chili's.

Ended up leaving Shane's house at 12:45 AM... talked to just about everyone under the sun on my way home, and finally rolled into my driveway at 2:15 AM, then I rolled into bed immediately following that... and I forgot to bring in my leftover turkey sandwich from Chili's... so it was in my car all night. Tasty.

In other news, I read in today's paper that the developer of Buringtree Meadows just got a new development approval from the Decatur City Council in the SE side of town... so that's just another place to add to my ongoing dilema of which side of town is better.... SE or SW.

Bar Mitzvah?

I'm heading out shortly to go film one in Nashville. It starts at 5:00 PM, but I've got to run by Tag's and pick up the VX2000's and some other stuff.

By the way, Tag is selling his camper. If anyone knows of anyone who wants one, please pass the word.

I forgot to post these pix last night.

Why is Books A Million having a Christmas Card sale... at the first of September?

I saw this magazine, and I had to take a picture for Bunny, because that's her favorite saying, "Crappy" ROFL

Ummm k. I'm heading out... I hear Famous Dave's BBQ calling my name...

just a few

Today wraps up a pretty good week in my book. I actually got a lot of things accomplished at the office. I was thinking today, I've really got it made at my current job. Aside from the work itself, the attractive female quotient is surprisingly high for being an engineering gig. I am content.

Mom got back from Hawaii around noon today. I guess things will get back to normal at the house now... Scratchy will get some food to eat. I'm sure she's like, "Why aren't these humans feeding me?...."

I went and hemmoraged some funds today during lunch at the music store in Huntsville. My buddy hooked me up with a couple insane deals on some equipment... later I went to a music store in Decatur , and ended up getting a genuine Abu Ghraib glow stick surprise when I purchased 4 velcro cable ties... for $10. Good Lord. I needed them though, and didn't want to wait for an online order.

Hung out with Shama for a while tonight. Ran into Jeff and Andrea at the bookstore. Jeff was saying they played with Bishop Black in Tuscaloosa last night. Kewl.

Personality Test
I took the personality test on Bone's site... I don't know why I wasted my time with this. I know how I am.

Your answers suggest you are a Resolver.
The four aspects that make up this personality type are:
Spontaneous, Facts, Heads, Introvert

Summary of Resolvers
- Good at getting to the heart of a problem and quickly finding a solution
- Make rational decisions using the facts available
- Think of themselves as understanding, stable and easy-going
- May focus on short-term results and lose sight of the big picture

[[--I agree with all that... except for the last item, I think long term--]]

More about Resolvers
Resolvers are independent people who quietly learn how things work by analysing large amounts of information. Should a problem arise, they solve it with as little fuss as possible. Resolvers are only interested in abstract ideas, if they can be used to solve a problem quickly.

Resolvers like to take risks: Many of them seek jobs and pastimes that put them in harms way and guarantee an adrenaline rush.

[[--This is very true of me... that's why I work with aircraft and also do video production, because there aren't many jobs more demanding while providing a huge rush than that right there.--]]

Resolvers have changed jobs most frequently since leaving full-time education, according to a UK survey.

[[--Excellent point.. I've changed jobs 3 times in less than a year. Who are these people saying they can't find work... there's lots of work out there.--]]

Resolvers are often tolerant of behaviour different to their own as long as their values aren't compromised. They sometimes give the impression that they agree with other peoples' viewpoints because they don't actively disagree.

[[--That's me to a T... which is why I can handle my girlfriend's drinking, even though I don't condone it.--]]

In situations where they can't use their talents or are unappreciated, Resolvers may become cynical, negatively critical or put off decisions. Under extreme stress, Resolvers could be prone to inappropriate, tearful outbursts.

[[--I don't really agree with the last 2 sentances... I'm more prone to just flying off the handle and causing bodily harm to someone... you know.. going kung-fu on their head.--]]

Resolvers are quiet and sometimes it is difficult to get to know them; however, they often talk freely about subjects they understand well.

[[--I'm not really quiet per se'. I'll talk about anything to anyone at anytime. On the other hand, sometimes people are just stupid and there is nothing I feel like saying about it.--]]

Resolver Careers
Resolvers are often drawn to hands-on jobs that require an analytical mind and careful organisation of large amounts of data

[[--Ding Ding DIng... we have a winner.. Vannaahhhhhh, tell them what they've won!--]]

Ok then, that was fun. It's 9:30 on Friday night and I'm going to bed...

It's me, and I'm reporting for doody

On the political front, based on everything I've seen and heard over the past 3 days, the logical conclusion can be reached that, the democratic party's campaign is going down like a hooker on the Sunset strip... well maybe that's not the best analogy, but you get the idea.

Issue One: Of course, the latest thing is how the liberal media is making Zel Miller out to be in some kind of enraged state, which is ludicrous. All that needs to be done is simply look back at the 1992 campaign where he was on the democratic platform and speaking for Clinton and against Bush. His speaking methods were very similar. It's the way he talks in public. Get over it.

Issue Two: Just a flippin' and a floppin'. It's absolutely no secret that John Kerry flip flops around on issues better than a pair of Reefs flip flop on the sidewalk. What's truly disturbing though is seeing the gigantic list of our nation's defense programs that he tried to stop by voting against them. The venerable B1 and B2 bombers... the F14 and F15. These are staples of American childhood (for boys)... just think if he would have succeeded in defeating these proposals. We would be in a WORLD of hurt, no pun intended.

Issue Three: Regarding accusations made this week, the democrats are now saying, "We're going to fight back against the republicans stronger and harder." Without question, that is a sign that many of the items talked about at the RNC this week are true. What the opposing party needs to do is address the topics that have been brought up and answer the charges. Fighting back isn't going to get them anywhere.

Finally: As a member of the United States Department of Defense, you can rest assured knowing that I'm voting for George Bush. I know that many of you who were previously misinformed or uneducated in some fashion, have been enlightened and will be voting for George Bush as well.

Ok onto other topics now that we've taken care of that....

Work went pretty well today. Got some stuff accomplished ... since it's not Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. LOL

Tomorrow is gonna be awesome!

After work I came home and worked on a wedding video for a while, and then hit up Logan's at 9:00 PM and hung out. Wow, Brandi was all over me like frickin' white on rice for not coming to her 21st bday party this past weekend. Whooooops. Sorry honey, I forgot.... or didn't know about it in the first place. One of the two.

Nothing is going on in Decatur tonight, so I'm going to bed.

Interesting Conversation:

"I haven't seen you in a while"
"I was here on Sunday with the church group"
"Is Jennifer still working?"
"No, she's been cut"
"How about Brandi?"
"No, she's been cut too"
"Well, who the hell is working tonight?"

Sein World

The school hostage situation over in Russia that happened this morning is absolutely horrendous. Can you imagine what it would be like to live where you constantly fear terrorist acts like that? Thank God George Bush is in office and is doing his part in keeping our country safe from acts such as these.

Last night, one of my favorite episodes of Seinfeld was on… The one where Jerry pretends to be married to the character played by Courtney Cox, and they get their dry cleaning at a discount.

“Courtney Cox.. I love you.. you’re so hot.. on that show”
“Courtney Cox.. I love you.. you’re so...”
“Dad! We’re singing about a dreidel”
“…Oh…”
“We’ll talk about this later Richard!”

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

The first email of the morning came in before 7:00 AM... when Bone announced to the world that the blogging article he was featured in was published in the Decatur Daily. As Kevin pointed out tonight, "Is that how badly they're hurting for stories these days?" LOL

In other news, I didn't get jack done at work today thanks to Email Insanity! I’ll tell you what, that may be a new game I develop… like I did with Fone Log Fun.

Email Insanity! The rules are simple, just see how many email conversations you can get going on multiple accounts at once.

Instant messaging? No need for that when you have Email Insanity!

For some reason this game only seems to take place on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's... Let's see who works on those days...

Went into corporate today for security training. A friend of mine has her 22nd bday on the 13th and she was talking about going to Six Flags, which I wasn't too keen on, because I don't like amusement parks... but I was going to go anyways.

Fortunately, she's changed her mind and wants to pull an overnighter in Nashville on the 18th. I'm much happier now, because Nashville is -my- city. LOL So immediately after the gig at Riverfest, we'll be trucking to Nashvegas and partying like it's 1999.

After work I came home and went and did a little house hunting. Wow, I saved like over a million dollars tonight by not buying any of them.

That took all afternoon and I went to band practice after that. It went good, except for the songs I didn't know.

Went to O'UpChucks for dinner. Something was hosed up because it took us like 20 minutes to get the order taken. Food was good though when it finally rolled off the conveyor back in the kitchen.

Ok it's really late and I've got to get into bed.
