Big Money, Big Prizes… I Love It!

I guess the big news of the day is mortgage rates are back under 5%. Although why that is the big news I’m not sure… oh wait.

In other big news, many of you will recall the job issue I posted about last week. Yesterday our secretary came in and dropped a piece of paper on my desk. It’s the announcement for the job position that is going to come open next week. After talking about it, it turns out there is generally a 2 month turn around time for government job (from opening to hiring)… so that window is probably acceptable. I’d be starting in October if I get the job.

Last night at band practice things came together nicely. Afterwards it was off to Ruby Tuesday for some food. Our waitress was rather attractive, although not overly receptive to attempts at playful A-team banter. It wasn’t even really bawdy banter.. just plain ol’ banter.

Got home and talked to Shane for a bit about this contract for the VMI marching band competition at Vanderbilt in October. That should be a good time. Also discussed plans for the beach trip next weekend. It looks like it’s still on. Hope to have a lot of people going.

I only did about an hour and a half on guitar last night and got in bed around 11:00 PM. What a slacker. I’ll have to make up for it tonight somehow.

Astute Observation
“That guy over there looks just like Jeff…. A black Jeff.”

Quotin’ Quotables
“Oh she’s so cute… can I take her home with me?” (waitress talking about Kailyn)
“How about if ~we~ take you home with us?”

“You can’t live at home all your life and constantly be dependant on your parents, you’ll have to be on your own at some point…. Although I’m probably not the best person to be telling you this because I’m 29 and I still live at home with my parents.”

Total Random
[at dinner last night, discussing how Kailyn spits out food she doesn’t like and it just falls on the floor]
Me: “We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year”
{weird look from everyone at the table}
Me: “Kailyn is leaving presents… kinda like Shane’s dogs leave presents on the floor… although those are actually more like landmines.”
