Phlem Flam

It's been one week since I came down with the sickness. I feel mucho bettero, but nose problems and a hacking cough still remain. It was around this time last year that Shama, Nisha, and I all had the same kind of thing, and it took over 2 months for the cough to go away. My boss had this nearly 4 weeks ago and is still coughing as well.

Speaking of Shama, I emailed her today because I haven't talked to her in ages, and she's now teaching art classes in Madison. Wow, I had now idea... she's been doing it for like 6 weeks now. I haven't heard from Nisha in a while either. I guess I'll email her tomorrow.

Things are shaping up nicely for Riverfest on Sept 18. Only a couple songs are rough, and that's mostly me, because I don't know how they go, but everything else sounds good and pretty tight. Dabney paid us a surprise visit tonight at practice... she just moved up to Murfreesboro, TN (sp).

Things are not shaping up nicely for the New York trip Sept 3-7 because Jeff like broke his ankle at a softball game last night... so now we've only got 3 people (Me, Bunny, and Cassie)... which is not enough. Beach trip instead? I priced hotels in Destin today and there appear to be several good deals still available. Of course, I don't have anyone to go with really... yet.

Yesterday we had a retirement party for a lot of folks at the office who have put in many many years as government employees. When I got there, our director was saying "Everyone please be seated", and there was an ensuing scramble to find seats. I saw Tiffany (one of the assistants from upstairs) had a seat open next to her and I pointed at it, and she waved me on over... so I took a seat next to her. Insanity ensued shortly thereafter... My boss is in the food line getting food, and sees me sitting with her, and like gives me a "thumbs up"... I'm like, "What the crap?" LOL.

At some point during the luncheon people were taking pictures and apparently snapped a few of us sitting there. This morning an email was sent out to the entire directorate saying pics were available on the server.... shortly after that, my inbox began to fill up and people were all like "Way to go".. and yada yada yada... this went on like all day. I was just like, "Hey I'm single and she's really cute and there was seat next to her. What was I supposed to do? .. go sit with you guys?" LOL Anyways, I only sat with her, because Sara dissed on me :) and didn't come to the thing. I called her afterwards and she was like, "I'm just now getting out of bed." Good Lord. LOL

In other news. Today we booked the Hartselle band competition again on Oct 2... so we've got that one and the one at Vanderbilt University on Oct 16. I love these.... can you say, "Phat Christmas Bonus!!" ?

In even other news, we went to Princeton's after practice... Kassi works there! A bunch of the Bishop Black clan was there for Karoke night at the bar. As I was going out to my car to get my wallet, I saw Ty sitting in a booth by herself so I stopped and chatted with her for a bit. Then when we were ordering, I realized our waitress was Ruth Ann from Applebee's! Then when I was leaving and fixing to pull onto the beltine, I saw Jennifer's car at the stop light there, so I rolled down my window and talked to her for a sec. She works at Logan's now!! She said she's working nights all next week and suggested I come by and see her... so you know where I'll be next week... every night for dinner. HA! I'm only joking... or am pretty serious... one of the two.

Finally, since it looks like we're not going to NYC, I watched the FRIENDS video I made from last year and wow... that NYC video is pretty kewl. I guess it's as close as we're gonna get this year.
