What's that word

Today was a good day at the office. Not too productive, but that's ok.

After work I ran by the Viper's office and picked up our season passes, did the PA announcement blurb, and got some other things lined up for this coming season. I'm really looking forward to doing this project again this year! Art (the team owner) came in while I was talking to Darrell (PR/Marketing) and Joe (the VP GM) and once again reiterated how much he liked the video we did for them last year.

That took until 5:00 and then I had to run by this other dance studio to check on booking their summer recital this year. If we get that one, we'll have 4 huge productions before the year's end, which means good $$$$ just in time for Christmas.

I was late meeing Q at the gym. We got started around 5:45 and finished up chest, tri's, and shoulders around 7:00. He was going on about how Publix has these fresh prepared meal things, so we went over there and did a little shopping. I'm cooking mine in the oven right now actually.

In other news, Kevin was talking about Varitech's... it's Veritech I believe... I can check my anime sourcebook if need be. I did notice last summer that the Robotech series is available on DVD stateside. Oddly something like that would normally have made me go buy a DVD player... but it didn't. I guess because I already own most of the VHS tapes of the show. Wow I shelled out some $$$ on those babies.

All time favorite anime:
Ninja Scroll
Macross Plus
Macross II
Ghost in the Shell
Akira
The Wings of Honneamise
Fist of the North Star
MD Geist
Ranma 1/2
Fatal Fury

Ok, I'll have to work on some video stuff and then get in the bed I guess.

Madison Wisconsin... help the police search.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,115612,00.html

For those of us not in the area, we can help by posting this in our blogs... maybe someone out there will see it. Also, several other dedicated websites have been set up (google search it) and they are suggesting DL'ing Aubrey's picture into your cellphone and showing to people you see during your day.

EXCERPT FROM THE NEWS STORY
Police said publicly they still had little information on the disappearance of Audrey R. Seiler (search), 20, of Rockford, Minn., who was last seen on video surveillance leaving her private dorm around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Madison Police Capt. Luis Yudice said investigators were trying to determine whether Seiler's disappearance was related to a Feb. 1 attack that left her unconscious. More than two dozen investigators involved in the case were reviewing files of sex offenders and others with a criminal history living in the area of Seiler's apartment

This weather is making me crazy: Prepare for random.

IE. These pretzels are making me thirsty!

Remember that comprehension/interpretation section of the SAT/GRE/ASVAB where you had to determine the phrase which most closely matched the one given? or like figure out the relationship between two dissimilar phrases?

Ok, so it was 80 on Sunday, and now it's 50 today... hmmmm it's amazing I haven't gotten the funk from that.

Pretty uneventful day. Check this out, I spent $9.45 at Chic-Fil-A for lunch. I got the #5 8-pack value sized with sweet tea, and also ordered a caesar cool wrap. I ate all that stuff. Wow, I'm a pig... thus I met Q at the gym at 4:15 this afternoon and we hit up bi's, back, and abs.

The plan was to hit up Applebee's at 6:30, but alas, I did a walk in, and no one we knew was working, so I did a walk out and made the appropriate ABORT phone calls. Ended up cooking some chicken up at the house... after downing a MYOPLEX.

While eating, I turned on my TV for the first time in about 10 days, and I noticed that John Laroquette (sp) has a new TV show! I watched about 15 minutes of it. It was pretty good, but not good enough to keep my attention... much like everything else on TV these days, which is why I never watch it anymore. I use it only for playing my 8-bit NES or 16-bit Sega Genesis... where all the real games are at.

I've been trudging through the wedding video here for the past 45 minutes or so. Gonna work on it a little more and then probably go to bed. It's gotten to the point to where, I'm in bed by 10:30 PM every night, and I wake up at 5:45 AM.

That's not going to bode well for all these arena football away games that are starting in a few weeks. Wow... that is going to be rough. What I'll probably end up doing is contacting the other teams and get hooked up with whoever films their games, and just get their footage. We'll see.

Tomorrow is everyone's second most favorite day of the week so enjoy it my compadres... my comrades... my brothers in arms. What?

Sometimes I just want to say, !@#$% ^&*()_+ !@#$%

Don't you?

I guess, probably the only difference between you and I is, I usually say it.

Dead Dead Dead, someday we'll all be dead.

Ok... you can thank Trey Parker and Matt Stone for that song, I didn't write it. I swear.

Just so much going on already this week... it was a day at work. Not too busy. Took Matt to Applebee's and introduced him to the Monday routine. LOL

Had fun at the usual Monday night gathering with everyone. It was great to have Sarah out with us tonight! ... and hey, don't be making fun of my AIM name. I'm very sensitive. What? Thanks to Elizabeth for letting me know what time to show up. So what if we're late. Tania and Andrea, nice to see you as always holding down the fort at that end of the mall. Also, I think we established tonight, that I did get Jenn fired from Dillards. Seriouslah, it's been 3 weeks. Even I don't have that much vacation time.

In more serious news, we had an older couple who were guests in church on Sunday morning. I sat right behind them. They went to Cracker Barrel for lunch after the service. The husband died, right there in Cracker Barrel while eating Sunday lunch.

I know we all joke a lot about suicide and how much we'd like to die or whatever because our lives suck... even the guys at this new job make references to wanting to jump out the window (I guess suicide talk is just really prevalent in the workplace)... but of course death is really no laughing matter, much less wanting to end your life early due to some petty problems.

So hold your chin up, and take it like a man. Life goes on. Do what you gotta do. Be thankful for what you do have and if things are sucking for you, just remember, only you have the power to change your own life. No one else is going to do it for you. That's why we are independent beings... even if some of us still live with our parents.

Bright Lights and a $500,000 mistake.

I'm going to save my rants on why SUV's are bad and dangerous to other drives and go straight into the rant on, idiots who drive down I-65 with their bright lights on. This one Ford Explorer was creeping up on me in the passing lane as I was cruising at a moderate 78 mph. Those lights were so bright and right at eye level.

I think I'm going to start carrying a paintball gun, courtesy of Tippmann Pneumatics... makers of my favorite all time paint gun, the fully automatic SMG60... and next time one of these idiots drives up behind me with their brights on... I'm going to mark them.

Ok, on to today. This morning was good at church. Good message. Good music. Bolted out quickly because I had to meet Q at the track at 12:30 PM for a run. Got some good sun today. Headed out to the business dinner thing in Nashville at 2:45 PM.

It was supposed to start at 4:00... we got there a little after 5:00. Why were we late? Well, yes, it had something to do with Shane and Melody running late, as per usual. But, in addition we did our good samaritan act of the week. Here's the low down.

On the drive to exit 65, we came upon an old couple in the right hand lane whose rear passenger side tire was low on air. REALLY low. So being the industrious engineer that I am, I was able to rumage around in the back seat of Shane and Melody's car and find a sheet of paper. Then I got some lipstick from Melody and wrote the words "FLAT TIRE" on the paper in big letters. We then let the old couple drive up beside us and I showed them the sign. They pulled over and we helped them change their tire on the side of the road.

That whole thing took about 20 minutes. Why so long? Because they were on their way back from spending 1-month in Florida and their 2003 Toyota Camry was PACKED FULL of stuff. Clothes, Food, Fishing Gear... everything you'd need or want to have with you for a month in Florida. I wish Shane would have taken a pic, because literally there was stuff stuffed into the crevices in the trunk. Wow.

Anyways, the dinner thing went well. Learned that the guy who bought the 1/2 million dollar house to rent out, CAN NOT rent it out because the by-laws in the subdivision home ownership association guidelines do not allow renting in that subdivision. Whoops. LOL So now our focus on that video has slighly changed a little bit.

So in short...

The bad news is, we won't get to stay at the 1/2 million dollar lake house once it's sold.

The good news is, we confirmed we can use it whenever we want to until it sells... and seeing as how it's been in the 80's here lately, I think we're going to start becoming regulars in the town of Centerville, TN.

Made the usual round of Sunday night phone calls to friends. Jeff, Bunny and Jeremy. Good to talk to you all as usual.

Well I think I need to get to bed. Tomorrow is going to be busy.

Good Fun

Well tonight turned out much better than I would have imagined. ~Sure~, it started off like every other Saturday night I've had for the past 5 years, but things took an interesting twist during the usual run to Applebee's after billiards at The Brick.

We walked in and sat down at the bar with Beth and Davina. I was sitting at the bar stool where my name plate is, and I looked at the opposite end and I was like, "Wow that is a really cute brunette sitting there". Upon closer inspection I said to Beth, "Holy cow... is that Tracy down there?" Upon hearing her name she turned and greeted us.

I haven't seen her since she worked there last summer. Her and her 2 sorority friends from Tuscaloosa are in town for Spring Break, getting ready to head to GS on Monday. Lucky. Anyways, T said she'll be back working again this summer, so that's kewl. We can get her back into the rotation.

Well that's about the extent of my excitement for tonight. Oh, I went with Davina to make a delivery.... Which led to this nightly funny a little later.

Jeff: "Wow, so you got Davina into a hotel and almost into a room. That's real progress right there."

ROFLMAO

Bedtime. Peace out my friends.

My Adventures in Agriculture

Looks like Bunny is getting a handle on the blogging thing. My Adventures in Agriculture We're glad to have you on board!

I've been up since 7:30 AM. Took the car down for it's 30,000 mile check up at the Honda place. Came home and surfed the net for a while. Looking at music stuff. Worked on a wedding video. I think Q and I are fixing to hit the gym and the track. It's a beautiful day outside!

I forgot to mention a nightly funny last night. Let me set it up. As you all know, Jeff and I are regulars at a lot of restaurants around town. That means, we get special service and lots of free food... from those who know how to properly serve us. So last night we're at The Brick, and lately they've hired some new folks whom we have to break in.

[Walking from the car to the building, Jeff makes this big deal about how he's not going to get any sweet tea tonight and save some money.]

[We enter and Belle walks up to me first]
Belle: You want some sweet tea?
Kyle: Sure
Belle: You want your sandwich?
Kyle: Sure

[Jeff is staring off into space or something]
Belle: You want some sweet tea sweetie?
Jeff: Yeah.

ROFL

He's such a sucker for a pretty girl. You gotta stay strong man. We had a pact! Oh wait, I'm not sure what we're talking about here.

Happy Friday

Good Day today. Talked to Bunny this morning on my way into the office. Also gave Jeff a buzz to inquire about some blog topics.

Work went well, got off early. Went to the bank and post office. Met Q at the gym at 3:45 and we did chest and tri's. Hit up Wilson Morgan and ran the track one time and walked it one time. Ran into Elizabeth up there walking around the thing with Emma.

Got home at 6:00 and cleaned up. Jeff came over around 7:00 and we hit up The Brick. He was on fire tonight. I was off fire. Good Lord, the worst I've ever shot. Hit up Applebee's (see funnies below) and then ran to BAM for a bit.

Now I'm here, talking to Q online, making plans for the gym tomorrow.

Nightly Funnies
[Sitting at the bar at Applebee's, this fella leans over to me and Jeff and asks]
Derrick: So what do you guys do for fun around here?
Kyle: uhhhh nothing. Well... this right here for the past 8 years.
Derrick: Wow, suddenly I don't feel so bad about my own life.

[A little later]
Derrick: So what is this red drink you're drinking?
[I immediately look down, I hear Jeff off to my right start to supress a laugh, and Donna is giggling like a little girl behind the bar while the hot chick by the register looks over]
Kyle: Ummmm...
Jeff: It's Kool-Aid
Derrick: It's what?
Kyle: I bet you thought it was like something special that they made for me... it's like, "Wow... that must be some drink, they don't even make that one out here at the bar. They make it just for me (pause) and the other 5-year old kids that come in here." ROFLMAO

Short and Sweet

That's the way I like 'em. Whatever that means.

Today was just busy. Left work at 5, came home, made some phone calls, shot some pool, did some guitar.

I haven't eaten yet... I'm going to do that now and go to bed. I'm worn out.

More tomorrow.

Good Lord why am I tired?

Towards the end of the day I really started getting tired. I'm not getting anywhere near enough sleep. These 20 minute naps I take at work aren't doing it for me either.

Band practice went well tonight. We tried out the new in-ear monitoring system for the music and it seemed to work much better than the old wedge system. Although I must say, the stock ear buds on those things are like pushing giant suppositories in your ears. They don't fit real well.

After that fun we headed to Logan's for dinner. Brandi is still in Florida... frickin' a... get back soon! (Get well, get well soon, we wish you to get well. Get well, get well soon, we wish you to get well) There were a lot of nightly funnies I wanted to blog about , but my brain is fried and I can't remember them. I've got to get one of those voice recorder things so I can have a record of them. GAH.

If J-mo remembers to send me the pic... I'll post "THE ALL AMERICAN FAMILY" picture. ^_^

Attempted to talk to LB tonight, but she was all like up in church stuff. Phone Tag..... It's not as fun as Phone Log Phun.

Jeff is sitting here telling me about tonight's episode of South Park. Jimmy on Steroids. Wow I haven't watched that show since like last summer. I guess since I don't have cable or satellite TV, that probably has something to do with it. Not to mention the fact that the show is highly wrong on so many levels.

Ok Bedtime.

Daily Funnies
[sitting in the booth at Logan's]
Elizabeth: Guess what's different....
[everyone is looking her over]
Jon: Are those new?
Elizabeth: No.... they've always been there
[people continue looking... Stacy or Kevin say something about her eye color]
Elizabeth: That's it!
Kyle: Oh, well good lord I never would have gotten that. I've never seen your face before.
Elizabeth: Well at least your honest.

[a little later one of Jon's friends comes by]
Jon: Her name is Pam, we use to hang out like 12 years ago.
Kyle: Ok... so she was what... 10 years old at the time?

Hump it today.

So I'm reading the money section of USA Today during lunch , and I notice there is a blurb about how much it costs for gas ($337) to drive from New York City to Miami for Spring Break. Ok, I'm thinking, "Who is going to drive from NYC to MIA for SB?" I know Erin and her friend drove from NJ to The Keys a couple months ago, but man, that's insane. That would almost be like driving from Decatur to Manhattan. Who would do that? Oh wait. LOL

Ran into C.A. up there today, oddly. LOL He'll be doing G.D. Ops during the Vipers games on Saturdays, so that's kewl. Man the football season starts in less than 2 weeks! This is gonna be great! I love football!

Today must've been lewd joke day... and for the life of me, I can't remember any of them. You know.. I have the memory retention of an 80 year old man who's been drinking out of teflon coated containers his entire life. The only thing I can recall is one Scott told a while back:

S: "How does the Scottsman find the sheep in the hills?"
K: "I dunno?"
S: "Very satisfying"

The others were something like, "What's the difference between a soroity girl and a bowling ball?" and something about the difference between a blonde and a counterfit dollar bill...

Last night I saw the Sue Ellen Mischke (sp) episode of Seinfeld. I don't recall ever seeing that before. I remember the thing about George's car always being parked out front, but I have no recollection of Sue running around town, wearing a bra as a top... which is odd because you'd think I would remember something like that.

A smattering of random.

Today was really busy at work, so I took off at the usual 3:30 PM. Just couldn't take any more today.

Went by the subdivision, and talked to the developer for like 30 minutes. They don't want to sell the lot without a house on it. WTF? They're having a meeting about it tonight. I gotta call back tomorrow or Thursday. One step closer.

Hit the gym and did legs. Wow, I can feel that shizzle already. Ran into Kris up there and we hit up Red Lobster around 7:30. You know what's funny? There was a hair in his food, and he was like, "You know, this is the 5th hair I've found in my food in the past 2 weeks"... Wow, that is some bad luck right there my friends. I was like, "Good Lord, why don't they wear hairnets back there?"

We are so proud to announce that Bunny has given in to our relentless pressure and has started a blog. Check the new link to your left. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. YOU CAN NOT DENY THE POWER OF THE BLOG SIDE. JOIN US. BE ONE WITH US. THE MEMBERS OF BRANCH DIVIDIAN EAST. What? Seriously though, we're all looking forward to reading her take on the happenings in the world and stuff.

Matt has a cell phone that works on the arsenal inside our building... I gotta find out what service he uses, because 2 cups tied to a piece of string would be more useful than what I have now.

Daily Funnies
[setup: It's 2:30 PM and I've gone to the corporate office to get us drinks because our company supplies whatever beverages we want to drink free of charge... cell phone rings]
K: Hello?
J: Hey what's up?
K: Not much, just driving around Huntsville.
J: You're not at work?
K: No. Why would I be there? It's a beautiful afternoon.

[At Red Lobster]
Kris: So do you like ever go out to clubs and stuff?
Kyle: No. Not really. I don't like those kinds of places
Kris: Well how do you meet new people?
Kyle: I don't.

... I then proceed to tell him about thetoe.cc and how it's the nexus for happenings in Huntsville/Decatur and one of the bands I play in has a website featured in the musicians section, and that I know a lot of people in the other bands as well... and how I was at Sammy T's for the St Patty's Day party and what a kewl place Humphrey's is. ROFL

[Online just now, regarding the NYC trip last July]
Kyle: Man it's a miracle we didn't have a low-level storm front materialize in the room after you said that.

Exhausting Part II

For some reason, I had a great chest and tricep work out tonight. I was able to progress up to the 60lb dumbells on the flat bench press, so I was stoked about that. I usually stop at 55 lbs.

Came home, got cleaned up, and headed to the mall for some Mexican food. It was tasty and there was a lot of funny stuff going on. It was also hot as _____ up in that restaurant. Of course, it is now a Monday tradition for Jon and I to parade around the mall with our friends babies and pick up chicks. Is that wrong? ROFL Oh man. Wow. LOL

Ok, you know what's scary... tonight at dinner I used the word "Spilly" in a sentence....

[Kailyn raises cup w/ lid and straw to her mouth at a sharp angle]
[I utter the phrase, in that weird no-testosterone high pitched voice] "Kailyn... you're gonna spilly spilly."

What the crap was that? Why do we talk like that around babies? Can they not understand us in our own normal speaking voice (That is very testosterone based for us heterosexual males)?

You know what else is scarry?? I'm beginning to like this whole "baby" idea more and more. Of course, the best part is it's someone else's baby so there's no cleaning, feeding, or lack of sleep associated with it for me, so that's probably why I really like it so much. LOL It really is amazing to just see the thing grow up. Wow, I just had a flashback to like 7 years ago when Allison had her baby, and I use to be over at her house like... a lot... into the frickin' wee hours of the morning with her and the baby. That's strange, but I haven't thought about her and those nights until just now.

Anyways, Jon, Elizabeth, and I went down to Dillards because Jon said he ~thought~ he saw that girl working there tonight... Alas, he was incorrect in his assumption.

I'll tell you what. I may work out a lot and stuff, but trying to keep up with a baby is a lot of frickin' work. Wow... and I only am involved for like 30 minutes at a time. Good Lord I need some HGH.

I must rest. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Exhausting

Today was mentally exhausting at work. Just too much stuff going on. But now that the new guy is here, I don't have to work OT anymore, so I'll be off at 3:30 again.

Today at lunch, Cory was talking about how he's been in Baltimore, and has been on this
seafood kick lately. I got to thinking.... how come we just have "food" and "seafood". Why isn't there "land food" "air food" and then "sea food"? Have you ever just stopped and looked at the word FOOD. It's a funny word isn't it?

Well I gotta get to the gym and then it'll be time to go out for dinner.

Daily Funnies
Kyle: Oh I'm so glad to see you!
Sheila: Well it's good to see you too!
Kyle: Hey.. you know.. I almost called your daughter Saturday.
Sheila: So you were up there this weekend?
Kyle: Yeah I was... but I didn't call her... was that stupid?
Sheila: Uh yeah. Duh. Why didn't you?
Kyle: I don't have an answer for that....

[I then get in my car and attepmt to recreate the opening scene from the
Dukes of Hazzard by driving off the parking deck's second level.]

Tears of the Sun

Before I get off on that topic, how in the world can it have been 80 degrees yesterday, and now, we have a freeze warning tonight??

Ok, now, Tears of the Sun... that is a great movie. I highly recommend you check it out. It shows just how much influence a woman can have even over the most hardened Navy SEAL. The evil ways that women will twist your minds and play head games with you to get you to do things for them. It's sickening. GOod Lord, why did I get off on that tangent?

Back to the movie... it stars Bruce Willis as Navy SEAL who leads his team in to the jungles of Africa to extract an American doctor and her staff at a local clinic because some rebels are going to kill them and burn the village.

Throughout the movie I couldn't help but be thankful that I live in the USA. I mean, like, I've seen the news stories on Dateline NBC and 20/20 about the mutiliations that go on over in Africa, and it's just so unbelievable and sad, that in the 21st century that kind of barbaric brutality still exists.

After that movie, I headed over to Kevin and Stacys to hang out with some of the folks from church. Had a good time and some really good discussion, even though I didn't directly take part. We were talking about how we see God in our/the community and Kevin was reading off this list and stuff... and then he read off what I would consider the antonyms that correspond to the topics being discussed, and I jokingly said, "Wow all those apply to me"... 1/2 way serious. There are some things I need to work on.

Well tomorrow is Monday so I guess I need to get in the bed. Hope everyone has a good week and thanks for checkin' in!

Daily Funnies
[Red Lobster: Emily sorting out the checks, pointing to Kyle and Jon]
Emily: So is that one check for you 2?
[Kyle looks up with this look of... "What in the $%^# is wrong with you woman]
Kyle: Umm No. (Followed by some other like motions and stuff indicating she's an idiot for asking that kind of question)
Kevin: (The exact comment escapes me, but it was something about me and jon being together after lunch)
Kyle: I'm going to kick your tail when we get outside.

-------------------------------------------------

K: You'll like this.. I was at the mall today and did a walk-by at Dillards. Jenn wasn't there. Man, I think I got her fired.
J: Maybe she's on Spring Break....
K: For 2 weeks??

It's nice, but blah, and ewww

Even though it's really nice outside, I'm just blah today. I dunno. Things just seem out of kilter.

Church went well this morning. Had some new folks there so that was cool. Things were jamming and the crowd really got into the groove with the music. Kevin said he saw a row of new kids back there just rockin' to the tunes, so that's good.

Afterwards, we went to Dead Lobster. Apparently there is someone who works there that Jon is all interested in or some such non-sense. LOL We sat in her section. Oddly, after she came out, I think I know her from somewhere, but I can't place her. And, like any other man on the face of the planet, I didn't ask her. What?

Anyways, I ordered a steak. It came out with what could well have been the smallest baked potato on the face of the planet. I probably shouldn't have eaten it, but rather submitted it to the Gueniss World Book Of Records. (Pic will be posted as soon as Jon emails it to me)

In addition to this amazing feat of agriculture utilization, there was another surprize to be found between the steak and plate itself. Yes my friends, there was a hair down there.

Quote from Jon: "Oh, that's from the basting brush"... which harkens back to a hair that was on his fish at Applebee's a few months ago. That was the excuse they gave him. ROFL

So anyways, the manager came out and I got the food and some dessert for free. That was really sick though. Gah. I've probably got like AIDS or something now. Their health rating is like in the 80's, and I see why.

Nothing is going on, so I'm going to nap.

Nashvegas and the end of the world

Just gettin' in from an afternoon in Nashville. Man it was so nice outside today. Washed the car this morning and went for a run at Wilson Morgan. Jeff and I headed up to Buffalo Billiards and shot pool and then it was off to find some food. Stopped at Old Navy on the way and I stocked up on their summer clothes sale. Wow I've bought a lot of clothes in the past 14 days.

Ended up eating at Dave's BBQ at Cool Springs. It was some very tasty food. Stopped by Shane and Melody's subdivision. They were at a Sunday School party a couple houses down from theirs. So I walk inside and meet the home owner and go up to the room where the party is going on, and there are like these 3 really pretty girls, who are apparently single, sitting on this bean bag. Anyways, Jeff and I went over to their place, and I picked up the stuff I needed and headed out.

On the way home we were listening to Coast to Coast AM and there was this guy on there talking about the end of the world and what all is going to happen. While I don't know the exact date of the end of the world, I do believe that particular time is upon us. He brought up something interesting that I never really thought of before.. .that the USA and Isreal are the only 2 divine nations on the planet. All other nations have been made by man and were not divinely inspired, and when judgement day comes, it's going to be Israel and the US who are judged first, as an act of mercy on God's part.

That was pretty amazing right there. A little while later, we saw this sign that said "Saturday is the true Lord's Day, All those who worship on Sunday worship the mark of the beast"

What's up with that?

Now I'm listening about this new technology BPL (Broadband Power Line) which is being proposed by the FCC as the next step in broadband technology... This is pretty interesting. It's feasable that this could be a way for various agencies of the government to monitor us and our families... "in the name of homeland security".

There's a 27MB video clip on this newest technology here.

OH man I gotta sleep

Nothing much going on this evening, and I'm glad. It's good just to relax and not do a whole lot for once. Shot some pool, ate some food, and hung out at the studio.

Tonight the whole crew was working at AB's. Donna, Davina, Tonya, Charity, Holly, and Jade. We had a good rotation going. Tonya and Davina (who is now known as "Hot Davina") ate most of my food for me. ROFL Good Lord ladies... eat before I get there. Anyways, it was almost like the old times with Sarah and Liz. I'll spare you my typical Liz rantings for now. ROFL

Went by to see JS and get a copy of the CD from the Bishop Black performance last weekend. He's really made some cool improvements to the place. Both aesthetically and technology wise.

Well I gotta get in the bed. It's gonna be a long weekend my friends.

Nightly Funnies
T: Since you showed me your thing, I'll have to show you mine sometime.
K: Kewl, sounds good.

[A little later as we are leaving]
J: So what were you doing over there? Were you talking to Davina?
K: No, I was talking to Tonya. She showed me her thing.
J: How was it?
K: It was nice.

ROFL
--------------------------------
D: I've got a nickname for you, "Squirt"...
J: Then we'll have like, Little Nibbler, and Little Squirt.
K: Ummm No, Good Lord, surely you can come up with a better nickname than that. I don't need it right now. Work on it over the weekend.

-------------------------------
D: Do you need me to punch you?
K: Oh yeah baby, I love it when you punch me.

The time is just dwinlding away it seems

So Tag comes over last night around 10:30 PM to pick up some video equipment. He walks in and the first thing he says is, "WHat's the deal with Shane and MElody opening a milk factory in Tennessee??
ROFLMAO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Anyways, I've been getting between 4-6 hours of sleep a night all this week. Wow. It's a frickin' miracle I can even function at this point. Today was good because I got a lot accomplished and some reports signed off on.

I got to make my first presentation to our division chief this morning in an impromptu budget meeting... based on that spreadsheet I've been doing for the past 16 hours at work. I guess I wear 2 hats at my job... systems engineering (solving problems) and then project manager (keeping track of the division budget.) which I really like, because those are LARGE $$$$ LOL

I got paid today. I dig this contracting business where you get paid every Friday. That's pretty sweet right there. Lord knows I'll need the cash tomorrow.

On my way home I stopped at the post office and I saw one of those ladies who like is a little older, probably has kids, yet is still incredibly attractive and is someone you'd consider hooking up with if the opportunity made itself available... although... the technical term escapes me at the moment. She smiled and said "Hi" to me and then walked over and got in her 2004 Champagne colored Corvette and drove off.

Anyways, I thought you'd enjoy that little story. ROFL

I gotta work on a wedding video here and get married myself. WHat?

Just too busy

Too many things going on. Going on virtually no sleep.

Wednesday was great. Made it to Huntsville at 9:15 PM for the Bishop Black St. Patty's Day Party and Sammy T's. The place was rockin'. Saw a ton of friends there, whom I haven't seen in a while. That was nice. Also made some new acquaintances. Ended up getting home around 1:30 AM....

Today, it was a miracle I got to work right on time at 7:00 AM. Worked until 4:00 on an excel spreadsheet... alllllll day. Went and got my hair cut right after work. Hit the gym and then met Jeff at Applebee's. Ran into Kris up there, haven't seen him in a while. Shot pool at the brick. It was dead. Some really gorgeous girl was up there singing and she had an amazing voice. We were floored by her vocals. They were out of this world.

I must sleep now.

This weekend is gonna rock! Big Time!

I'm as happy as a little girl! (Diter)

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Wow, things just get better and better!

Today was quite productive at the office. I'm glad for that. During lunch time I made a pit stop by the VBC to talk to the Vipers people. The V.P. had called and left a message on my cell phone yesterday... they want us to do another promo video for them this year, so I ironed out that deal during my lunch hour. Killer man.

After work, I met Q up at the gym and we did chest and tri's. On my way home, I called the Bishop Black guys regarding their show tomorrow night at Sammy T's... turns out, I'll be there filming it. It should be a good time.

Jeff came into town and we hit up Applebee's. Sat with Charity and bravely ordered beverages. When the check arrived, we learned, she already knows the procedure. ROFL Sweet.

Went by the mall around 8:00 that to check out the sale situation. Parisian only had stuff maked down like 20%-50%.... and I was like, "YOu people need to get with the program. Dillards has stuff 75% off."

At 8:30, I Drove back to Madison to get some stuff from Nisha. Came back and stopped at Applebee's again to talk to Charity a bit more. Beth and Chad were up there hanging out.

Rollan was on the phone, I guess with Donna, and he had his back turned to the door when I walked in, and I heard him say, "Hang on someone just walked in" and then he turned around and saw it was me, and then he said, "Oh it's just Kyle again." and turned back around and continued to talk on the phone. ROFL

Gave Jeremy a call to touch base with him since I haven't talked to him in a while. It's always good to chat with long time friends, you know?

Well, for some reason I'm just like not tired and I'm just like Howard Dean right now.... RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

I'm moving to Nashville!

Ok, enough of that kind of talk for today.

I gotta get started on this guitar stuff. My first lesson (as a teacher, not a student) is next week and I'm as nervous as a little boy visiting Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch for the first time. Whatever that means. ROFL

Tomorrow is a special hump day. Make sure and take advantage of it!

So many good titles…. (Amended)

At first I was going to say “Sock It To ‘Em”: Which is what the stock market did to my portfolio today… then some of these came into play:

  • “First Contact”
  • “I ain’t afraid of no baby” [Ghotsbusters theme] “Oh wait”
  • “Using your friends to your advantage”
  • “I really enjoyed that… I gotta get one of these”

My day started off an a really bad note. I was going to work and while I was sitting at the stoplight by Holiday Inn, some traffic was going the opposite way and some vehicle must’ve slung a rock my way, because it smacked my windshield and left a dime sized divot right where I look out.

My day at the office wasn’t as productive as in the past. This was mostly because it was like 80 degrees and I was already tired… so warm and me being tired don’t go well together. I think I dozed off a couple times. Went to lunch at Applebee’s. Had the steak skillet. As I was sitting there eating my salad… a roach crawled up from where the beer coolers sit and was all crawling around the end of the bar where I was sitting. I squashed it with a napkin. Ewwww gross. LOL

Headed back to the office, and was informed I was getting to move to a new cube! One with a window view! There is another new guy coming on board to replace the position of this guy who was supposed to transfer from another group. That fell through, and he was supposed to get the window slot due to his level… Since that’s not happening I have seniority and I get to move to a new cube. Sweet.

Ended up leaving work at 5:00 PM. Got hosed up in some traffic on the way home. People gawking at a wreck on the other side of the highway. Made it home around 5:45. Checked email, played guitar a bit, and then headed to Guad for the usual Monday night gathering.

Tonight was a blast…. Seeing J-mo walking around with Kailyn trying to pick up chicks was great. And then there was Elizabeth tagging along behind him, sabotaging his efforts. ROFL. Oh man that was great. As we were leaving, J-mo noticed these was this trash can thing that looked like a giant toilet and he was like "get on there". So I did. ROFL Thanks for J-mo for sending me the pictures promptly tonight. LOL

Kyle holds Kailyn Giant toilet

Well I gotta get in the bed.

BTW I forgot to mention in this months Guitar World magazine, Steve Vai has a massive 12 page guitar workout. It’s called “The 30-hour guitar workout” and it’s broken into three 10-hour practice sessions. I highly recommend anyone who wants to play better get this issue and memorize all of it. It’s a good starting point.

This just in via email:
Bishop Black is going to be at Sammy T's Wed (St Patty's Day) starting at 8:00 PM. There is NO cover charge, and WZYP will be there covering the events! See you all there!!

Daily Funnies

[In Dilliards as everyone is shopping, Kyle is “watching” Kailyn as she runs around the racks of jeans. Enter Cute lady with her baby carriage]
Her: How old is she?
Me: Umm I have no idea.
[lady gives me a strange look. ROFL]

[Getting ready to leave the store, Stacy is holding Kailyn up on a table, and J-Mo starts calling to her….talking commences in the ‘cute baby’ dialect.]

Jon: Kailyn! Come to uncle Jonathan
Stacy: Kailyn want to go see uncle Jonathan?
Me: Kailyn! Come to uncle Kyle!
Jon: Kyle has discovered the power of the baby!
[Stacy moves out of the way and Kailyn is just standing there… arms then outstretch toward me].
Me: Ok, now what do I do?

[Kyle holds Kailyn]
Jon: Kyle is diggin’ this… he’s gonna be getting someone pregnant so he can have one of his own.
Me: You got that right.

### DEEP THINK: AMENDMENT ###
The other night when Elizabeth and I were coming home from the Bishop Black show, we were randomly talking about things... which I guess is what happens at 2:00 AM on a Saturday night, and she said something about how "Everyone comes into your life for a reason." ... and so now I'm thinking... wow... you know what... as freaky as this is, tonight was the first time I think I've ever like actually held a baby. I KNOW for sure it's the first time I've ever walked through a mall with a baby on my shoulders. LOL

If I hadn't been friends with this group of people, would I have had this opportunity? What's scary is, as much as I've always said I don't like kids... I kind of enjoyed that tonight.... and it was more than just a ploy to get women, although I'm not denying that particular event is not a part of the overall plan here. Whatever that means.

I mean it's like, most of my friends are guys, and we sure ain't having babies. LOL ... making babies... yeah... having them.. no. (I'm not sure what that means exactly). So you see, it's not like I'm around really young children... ever.

Ok, enough of this goofiness for one night.

I've got a lot of reading to do on the 7 modes and synthetic scales.

Another fun filled evening

After church I did the usual house hunting thing. Nothing, as usual. Came home ate some dinner, and then watched this movie I had borrowed from Jon a while back.

The movie was, "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman"... Hmm that sounds like the title of a movie I should have starred in. What? I'm not sure what that means exactly.

While the movie was quite good and entertaining, I couldn't help but think, "This is like an early 20th century version of the X-men." I didn't know anything about it before I put it in the player... I never had even heard of it before. So I was pleasantly surprized when it turned out to be a good movie.

There's nothing worse than sitting through a bad movie.. unless of course you're starring in the bad movie. Watch a bad movie it's 2 hours... star in a bad movie.. it's 2 years. That kind of a thing.

After that I headed to Kevin and Stacy's for a small group night. Hung out and watched a couple parts of some DVD concerts. Talked about how close we feel we are to God, and how stress can have an impact on our lives and time we need to spend with God. It was kind of interesting as we were all going around bringing things up, that thing that Holly said to me earlier in the day really got me to thinking. I really need to do a better job of being a good example and letting others know about Jesus.

As someone mentioned about their own life tonight lacking in the 'fruits of our labor" deparment... yeah I know. Anyways, it was just a good night overall. Tangent: I'm really looking forward to this old testament study that's fixing to start. It's so weird, I was all in church and stuff when I was younger, and over the years, how much of what I had learned just isn't there anymore.

In other news, I've been capturing Jeremy and Allison's wedding footage from yesterday. It looks really good. So I'm happy. I was runnin' around like a 10 year old kid who just won a $1,000 shopping spree yesterday.

In even other news, Tonight Elizabeth was all like wanting us to stop blogging. Ummmmm yeah. ok... ROFL Woooooooooooooooo! I'm not being mean or anything, but for me, it's just an easy way for friends of mine who live all over the USA and overseas to keep up with what's happening in good 'ol Decatur.

One must use discretion when posting online. While it may seem that I post every detail about my life in this thing, in reality, there are a lot of things that go on in my personal life that never get written about.

It's bedtime alrealy. Hope everyone has a great week and we'll chat with you later!

Good morning

Wow things went really good this morning at church. I was wondering how'd I'd function on 5 hours of sleep... but then I remembered that's what I get every other night of the week, so it shouldn't be too big a deal. The music was groovin' and there were a ton of people there today.

After the service, I went with Kev, Jon, Elizabeth, Brian, Amber, and all their respective young ones to Applebee's for lunch. I walked in and Virgina and Holly were like, "How many?" and I was like, "About 10" and they were like, "I don't believe you" ROFL I was like, "Seriously... it's the church group" and Holly got this inquisitive look and said, "You go to church?" Wooooooooooooooooooo!

We sat with Kristina today. "Shane" was working and brought out our food. I wish Bone would have been there. ROFL

Daily Funnies
[We sit down at the table]
Jon: Here why don't you hold the baby
Me: Eh... I don't really do well with babies
Jon: Oh come on
Me: Oh ok....

[I take the baby... Kevin comes in and sits down]

Kevin: Ok... let me put her in her chair
Jon: OH man... there's a hottie walking in the door!
Me: Hang on one sec... let me hold the baby a little longer.

[Laughter among the group]
[Cute girl sits down]

Me: Ok, take the baby, this is making me uncomfortable

--------------------------------------------------------------
Me: Hey Jon, I need you to do me a huge favor.
Jon: Ok... what?
Me: See that tall goofy guy over there in the green shirt... I need you to take a picture of him with your camera phone.

[Everyone at the table gets this weird look]

Brian: I think Kyle just came out of the closet.
Kevin: Go back in, and lock the door.
Me: Ummm No... He looks like Shane, my business partner, and Jeff was all wanting a picture of him the other night and I never took one. We're always making fun of this guy.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Jon: "Her panties look like they're hanging onto their last thread.. watch out in case they come flying off.. Fwap! Whappened to your eye?"
Me: Panties.

[Amber is at the other end of the table telling a story.. and all we hear is]

Her: So here I am, in my bra and panties, hanging on to her by her ankles...
Jon: .. umm what?
Elizabeth: Sounds like a fantasy of yours?

ROFLMAO

Jam packed evening

The wedding shoot went pretty well. Of course, we'll see what happens when I start putting it together. Ran into an old friend, Dewayne, at the reception. Went to UAH with him back in the day.

That was over at 9:00 or so. JS had called and was heading over to do the audio for the show. I packed up my stuff and headed to the house.

At 10:00 I headed over to the show myself to do a little filming. Crappy... I forgot to stop by The Brick and drop off this stuff for Heather's wedding. All the usual people were there, plus some new ones. I ran into Wendy K. tonight! I was like Holy cow, I haven't seen her in months. Also saw Bone's woman, aka Gym Chick out there. She waved. LOL

There were a lot of girls on the front row who were at the last show we did, so that was good and bad. It's good that they are like really hot and remembered me, it's bad that it's the same batch of hotties... it'd be better for the video if there were like just a lot of hotties.

Also, there were WAY to many guys up there in the front rows dancing. Forget a bunch of that. Everyone would much rather see gorgeous girls 'a flppin' and a floppin' up there.

Well it's late and it's been fun, but I must go to bed now.

Interesting Exchanges
Her: So why are you still single?
Me: Let's see... because I'm stupid.
Her: That's not a good reason.
Me: Well I know.. but you know.. I recently had a friend tell me, "You would have made a much better husband than that guy she married"... and that made me just want to go drive off a cliff somwhere.

Dave Ramsey is coming to Huntsville!

Holy cow, I can't believe I forgot to post about this. I heard it last week on his show.

My friends, if you would like to know more about handling your money and ways to build wealth, YOU MUST attend this live event.

Date: Tuesday March 16, 2004
Time: 5:30 - 10:00 PM
Location: Von Braun Center 700 Monroe Street Huntsville, AL 35801

To get tickets just go here:

https://www1.daveramsey.com/etc/ecommerce/index.cfm?intID=2&P2XXevent_id=155

I brought a group of 10 people to his show 2 years ago when he came to Whitesburg Baptist in Huntsville, and it changed all our lives! He can do the same for you!

It's not a scam. You don't have to buy anything. Just sit there for 5 information packed hours and learn how to handle your money! It's 100% legit. For those who don't know, Dave hosts a 3-hour nationwide financial talk show Mon-Fri from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM on AM800/1230 (Decatur/Huntsville) live from Nashville TN. There is a picture of us (Look MOm Videos) in the montage above (second ro, 4th pic from the left) from when we met with Dave a few years back in Nashville one afternoon to work up a deal on some wedding related stuff.

See you there!

Jam packed day

Wow I got about 12 hours of sleep last night. LOL That was nice. Q just called and we're heading to Wilson Morgan to run in a little bit. Gotta run by the Post Office, the mall to take care of a couple things, and then it's off to film a wedding. After that looks like the Bishop Black thing in Huntsville is going to happen. Hopefully I can get there around 11:00 PM.

Hollar later.

Today has been absolutely exhausting. Work went very well. The head honcho came in at 3:00 and told everyone to go home since it was so pretty outside.

Ran a bunch of errands in Huntsville. Went by AB Stephens to check on some stuff. Talked to Jeff for a long time. Also saw Adam and informed him I needed my SY99 worked on. Played a Motif ES up there again. I dunno. I may just get one of those, simply because I don't want to have to learn another KB OS.

Got paid today, so I came home and went to the bank and all that. Bone came into town around 7:00 and we hit up The Brick. It was rough tonight, but got better towards the end. We really gotta start playing more than once a week. We're not making any progress on getting better. It's like we've both plateaued.

Cruised by the mall to check out any additions or other special sales going on. Nothing. On my way out I stopped at Zales and asked if they had any polishing cloths for my watch. I informed them I bought it there about 2 or 3 years ago. One of the girls gave me one. As I was walking out, I heard her whisper to the other 2 people there, "Oh my God... that was a Movado." ROFL

Applebee's was packed, so a detour to Books A Million was in order. Ran into Elizabeth and her mom up there. Talked for a bit. I found a mag with a Steve Vai interview, so I had to buy that. LOL Said hi to Jeff Sharp and then headed back to AB's.

Ended up staying at AB's for over 2 hours. Everyone was working tonight and we watched the SEC FLA/AL came until the end.

O.T.; watch where you are going; and useless stuff.

I'm beginning to work some O.T. at the office for the next several weeks so I won't be around the net much. It's good though because the days just fly by.

Went to lunch at Applebee's today. The old crew of regulars was up there. I learned about mammograms today. That was interesting.... something about having your mammaries (NYC trip. ROFL) pressed between 2 refrigerator doors? That was a bizarre analogy. It's a good thing we're all good friends because someone uttered the phrase, "I'd like to be that set of doors."

After work I met Q up at the gym and we did chest and tri's. Sherry came in at 6:40 PM and which was surprizing because normally she's out of there before 6:00. I asked her waht was up, and she was like, "I went all the way home to Hartselle... felt guilty... and came back up here." I was like, "Ahhh yes the guilt trip.. it works every time." ROFL

Got cleaned up and headed to church for a band practice thing at 7:15. On my way up there, I came to a 4-way stop. There was 1 car coming from each direction and they were at various distances from their respective stop signs. I was the first one to come to a complete stop, but the lady entering the picture from my right (who was coming in second) pulled a California roll and just went on through the stop sign, as I was already 1/3 of the way into the intersection.

She had had her head turned to her right and was talking to her 12 year old son in the front seat and just happened to look up as we almost collided. (Although I had a feeling she was going to run it, because I could see she was not paying attention, so no collision would have happened.. I just wanted to scare the crap out of her). She honked at me as I drove through the intersection.... $&&) ##$$ $((#)) may have come out of my mouth and been directed at her.

So anyways, the overall sound at practice was actually quite good tonight for some reason. Ironed out a few parts and such and called it a night.

Ended up at Logan's with Kevin, Stacy, and Jon. Upon being seated, I couldn't help but notice this girl sweeping up the floor and I was all thinking, "Man that looks like Brandi". She waited on me and Jeff about a month ago and was pretty cool. As I was coming back from the bathroom I stopped her as she was walking to the back and it went like this:

Me: "Is your name Brandi?"
Her: "Yeah" [Inqusitive look]
Me: "Umm K...I thought so. You waited on me and a friend a while back."
Her: "Oh yeah! I knew you looked familiar! You guys sat right there (and pointed to the table we were at) and I was giving you all a hard time about your checks."

So that was kewl because it had been well over a month since we've been in there.

[I'd like to take a moment to pause and make sure and give the proper shout to Sarah who not only remembered who we were (The church group), but also what I ate after not seeing us/me for a month. That was great. LOL]

So for fun, let's recap our favorite restaurants and waitresses:

Applebee's:
Trained in the proper procedure : Donna, Beth, Jessica, Kristina
Next on the list to be trained : Charity, Holly, Devin, Kelly, Jade

Cracker Barrel:
Sarah
I don't know if they can get away with the procedures like Applebee's folks can. You know, if I would have actually SAT with Liz when she worked there last summer, I would know the answer to this q. Also, if Meg wouldn't have quit hostessing and like become a server, that would have helped. LOL

Logan's:
Brandi
The first time we sat with her, she was aware of the procedure. It was as if it was implanted in her mind and she knew what to do. Maybe it was her female intuition. Who knows... All I know is, she didn't charge us for our drinks and salads... which is "The Proper Procedure"

Bishop Black at Sammy T's in downtown Huntsville, Alabama this Satuday night! Be there! I'll be filming! (maybe.. if I get done with the wedding early enough) Visit www.thetoe.cc for more info.

Bedtime.

Happy Hump Day!

Hope everyone's Day of Hump went well!

I finally got my secret clearance. That's a relief... NO thanks to the "Branch Davidian East" comment posted earlier in the week.... So anyways, my computer and phone are supposed to be hooked up tomorrow to the network and maybe I'll be able to do some work.

This afternoon, I went to the gym and did bi's and back today. I was talking to Sherry, asking where Kim has been because:

  1. I haven't seen Kim up there in over 6 months and
  2. I've been to lazy to call her to do lunch. Oh wait... that's not the reason, it was because I was unemployed for 3 months and never went to Huntsville.

So anyways, last she heard Kim had moved to either Bham or Huntsvegas. So when I left, I called, and got her voicemail... I noticed her last name has changed on her voicemail... Ummmm she use to be married. I'm not sure what that means.

After that, I headed up to church for band practice. Things were out of kilter tonight. It was nice to have Tania there and singing with us on Sunday. Things smoothed out towards the end.

When we got done I headed home. Apparently everyone else went to Cracker Barrel because about 15 minutes later my cell phone indicated that Jon was calling. I answered, only it wasn't Jon... it was a female voice.

At first, I thought it was Stacy..... Turns out, it was our favorite waitress. So for some reason, which escapes me at the moment, I got back into my car and went to Cracker Barrel. ROFL Ran into Lee Jett. He had called me earlier in the day. He's back in town until Saturday, then heading back to Auburn.

Now I'm here and I've got to get some sleep... 5 hours a night for 3 consecutive nights isn't good.

Train Wreck

Tonight's band practice went about as well as Martha Stewart's criminal trial.
It was the first time we've played or practiced together, really, since the show in January. Wow... I'd forgotten most of our set list.

Then when we were messing around, we were kind of doing Queen's Bohemian Raphsody... and I COULDN'T REMEMBER IT AT ALL! Gah that was frustrating. Ended up working on "On The Loose" by Saga for about 2 hours. Not the whole song... just the little 16 or so measure part in the middle. Give it a listen, you'll immediately hear what I'm talking about. LOL I think we got it though.

Talked to Jeremy for a while tonight just now, and I"m about to pass out so I gotta get in the bed.

Just remember tomorrow is hump day! Ya'll have fun wherever you are!

~K

Hmmmm...

Just getting in from ... well you take a guess.

I bought more stuff and I got the -special- discount again today. I have no idea why she's doing that for me. That reminds me of this HILARIOUS bit on Seinfeld:

[The day after the expiration date]
"I don't know why I'm doing this"
"Did you smell it?"
"Yeah I smelled it."
"what's it supposed to smell like?"
"I've never smelled milk!"

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Ok I was there for 1.5 hours and I only picked up 3 shirts and another pair of frickin expensive pants. Most of that time was spent talking... and once again having her galvanting all around trying to pick out my wardrobe.

  • List price of 4 pieces of clothing: $191.00
  • Acutal price paid: $50.13
  • Walking out of the store for the second day in a row without hooking up; after having her tell you (1) she is single, (2) hasn't had dinner yet and is hungry, and (3) is getting off work in 10 minutes and "If you don't hurry up, I'm going to break out the whip": Priceless.

What?

Ok well that's about it for today so far. I gotta go run some errands and then find a bridge to jump off of. The Tennessee River looked invitingly choppy this afternoon.

Monday and stuff

The early mornings continue. Not a whole lot going on. Spent most of the day working on MS Word stuff, helping my boss format documents and such.

All day, for some just INSANE reason, I had been thinking about Erin. Well ok, I guess it's because Bone asked the question the other day, "Have you talked to Erin lately"... and of course I haven't. .... since December 2002. Ummmm so I just up and called her. Good Lord, I deleted her phone number out of my phone, and even though I haven't called her in like 1.5 years, I still remember her number. What's up with that?

After work I picked up the Bishop Black DVD's from Melody's parents and then hit the gym for a quick leg workout. Came home and met the crew at the Monday gathering at the mall. Elizabeth asked if I was going to the Bishop Black show on Saturday night after the wedding. Hmmmmmmmm.... LOL

Anyways, dinnner was good. We all hung out for a while, and then I was alerted to a sale at Dillards... 75% off stuff!! Good Lord man... I was all over that like Martha Stewart on some insider stock trading.

Kevin and I went down there to browse while Jon stayed with Stacy and Kailyn (Kevin's wife and daughter) at the restaurant because none of us had paid. Good Lord, that sentance reads really weird. I was looking for 'work clothes' IE khakis but ended up buying dressy clubbing type clothes instead. Why did I buy dressy clubbing clothes? I have no idea.

Claiborne/Murano Outfit List Price: $135.00
Actual Price Paid: $33.75
Me uttering the phrase, "Oh, come on baby" to the checker-outer chick: Priceless

So like the checker-outer chick is cute and flirty and is practically dragging me around the store showing me stuff to buy. They must work on commission there. She did hook me up with 75% off those Claiborne pants which were NOT on sale at all. Thank You ^_^

Why do I now forsee multiple and consecutive trips to Dillards in the coming days? And why did she make it a point to mention the days and times she'll be there? Reminds me of that old song by C&C Music Factory, "Things that make you go... What? "

ROFLMAO

Holy Cow it's bedtime already!

Oh, here are the websites for the bands who played at the Metal show at Crosspoint in Decatur on March 6, 2004

Enjoy!

Busy as Martha Stewart's lawyers preparing for an appeal.

Woke up this morning and headed to church. Everything went well for the most part. Afterwards went to Logan's with Jon, Kevin, Stacy, Elizabeth and associated young one's. Ate so much I was about to pass out. Came home and crashed for about an hour.

Woke up and went house hunting. Didn't see anything that just did it for me. I think I'm back on the "design your own' track again. Came home and surfed a bit... and then my cell phone rang....

It was in the other room and I didn't get to it in time. Wendy had called! It was so bizarre because I was thinking about her last night when Jeff and I were at Logan's in Huntsville... because she works in the office building next door.

I haven't seen her since like summer 2003. Anyways, she's in ATL now. I was like Good Lord! LOL It's always good to hear from old friends... you know?

Ate dinner with the folks tonight, and have just been vegging out. Spent some time trying to wade through the AW4416 stuff, but it's so frickin' complicated. I guess I just need to take it one step at a time.

Now I'm sittin' online talking to people in Bham, AU, Moulton, and Decatur.... watching Seinfeld, and blogging.

It's almost bedtime.

Daily Funny Flashback
[playing a club cranium at the lake house]

Jeff: It's something... I'm not even sure what this is...
Melody: It's in the kitchen... you put stuff on it... and turn it
[TaTa and Shane looking confused... have no idea]
Me: Ohhhhh!!! A lazy Susan!

[How I know that.... I have absolutely no idea]

My Life: R2.0; A recap.

I was thinking today, basically what I'm doing here is starting my second life with this new job. I've never done anything like it before, I have no idea what I'm doing, so essentially, I'm starting over. Why did I spend all that time in college in the first place?

A lot went on today. Woke up at 10:00. Cleaned house a bit. Jeff called and wanted to go to Applebee's for lunch. I ran over to Tag's and thought I had enough time to get to the post office (which I thought closed at 2:00, but really closed at 1:00). Ended up meeting up with Jeff at 1:15.

Davina was working today! Haven't seen her in months, literally. Tonya was there too, and so was Kristina and Jade. I ate a SouthWest Steak Skillet. Man it was Excellent!

After that I ran over to Jon's house to check out the Dave Matthews Band Central Park Concert DVD. It was pretty cool. Although at one point I passed out for about 15 mintues on the couch.

Ended up leaving there around 5:00 PM. Jon had mentioned that my car was dirty, and since some birds had used it on some bombing runs apparently, I washed it when I got home. Nisha came over for a bit and we discussed the upcoming Orlando trip. That's going to be so much fun. I'm glad I have a job, so now I can afford it. LOL

Headed up to church at 6:30 ish. There was an issue with having subwoofers, but no crossover to cut out the Hi-Freq's. I went over to Dave's studio and borrowed one from him. I'm glad he had a spare one to loan out. Got that all hooked up and it made a significant difference in the sound. I hung out until around 9:00.

Jeff was in Huntsville so I drove over there because we thought we would shoot billiards at The Jazz Factory. On my way out of town, I was channel surfing and it turns out Dr. Natasha is now on AM800/1230 in the Decatur/Huntsville market from 9:00-midnight on Saturdays! Kewl. Whenever I listen, for some reason, I harken back to when TaTa introduced us to the Sue Johanson show at the lake house back in January. ROFL

Anyways we got to the Jazz Factory and it was packed out and there were no open tables, so we hit up Logan's for some food. By the time that was done, I was too tired to shoot any pool. I came back into town and helped set up stuff at church for tomorrow morning.

What Technology Has Allowed Us To Do
According to my IP logger, someone from a local bank, where I have recently opened an account (you know who you are), has been surfing my site lately. A lot.

Ummmm I am going to just assume this is the same person (E.J.) who helped me open my account...

What are you doing for dinner next Friday night?

Ok, yes, I just asked a girl out though my blog.

Isn't technology grand!?!?

I love it.

Pretty soon we, as a society, will have completely eliminated the need for face to face verbal communication of any kind.

Worn out like a rag doll

Man I am so tired. I made it in to work at 6:55 AM this morning. I was tired all day, but it went by fast. I left at 3:30 and headed straight to the courthouse to take care of that business, went by the P.O., the bank, my accountants office to get my taxes, back to the bank, and then came home at 5:00 PM.

I ate dinner with the folks tonight, and then Jeff called and headed into town from Huntsville around 7:15. Met up at The Brick. Shot some pool and I ran into a bunch of people I knew. Cruised by Appleebee's and hung out and talked to everyone. Jade was there tonight. Haven't seen her in a month. Rainbow Brite was there too... haven't seen her in months.

Talked to one of my future guitar students tonight, and discussed exactly what she wants to learn, so I gotta go through and prepare and update some of my lessons from back in the day... I'll do that tomorrow.

It has been storming like a mother here the past hour or so. Is it raining where you are?

Daily Funnies
Me: She said, "Hey I saw you come in and come back here and just wanted to say Hi".... does that mean anything?
Jeff: Nahhh.. I doubt it. Just because she comes over and talks to you everytime you're in there...
Me: Well I've only known her for 2 years, and just started talking to her at the gym like 6 months ago.

Jansen: So where are you living at these days?
Me: Same place I've been living for the past 29 years.

Jeff: It looks like their doppler radar is indicating about a dozen tornados south of Decatur.
Me: Well we'd better get in the car and go find them

Whopper of the night:
Her: You coming back up here later?
Me: Yeah... probably... it's only 9:00 PM it's still early.

the friday five

the friday five: "

1. ...your first grade teacher's name?
This one, I don't even remember. I know my favorite elementary school teacher was Mrs. Gurr at Bells Ferry Elementary School in Marietta, GA... I know several regular readers of this blog will recall the Atlanta Trip in 1999 where we drove through the parking lot of my old stomping grounds. LOL Here's a flash back, The word of the day on the sign was, "Self Confidence" ROFL

2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
I think it would have to be Dungeon's and Dragons. I love adventure type of stuff.

3. ...the name of your very first best friend?
John Stallions. Met him in elementary school when I use to live over by Point Mallard. We use to ride bikes and stuff to school together. He had a pool and we were always swimming and stuff. He also had like a frickin' nature preserve in his backyard with like cats and ferrets and turtles and rabbits. LOL Good Lord that was a long time ago.

4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal?
When I was younger it was Frosted Flakes... now I eat Total.. what's up with that noise?

5. ...your favorite thing to do after school?"
Get together with everyone and go play army in the woods or play GI Joe.

My first time

I'm not even sure what that title means.

Anyways, my first day at the new job was actually pretty awesome. Everyone was cool and friendly and all that good stuff. I've got a bigger office than I had at Boeing (which was the biggest in our entire group because I did the most work... ok everything after the first 4 words is subject to creative license.) and everything is like new and remodeled. The best part is WINDOWS! We have windows! It's sweet. The other kewl thing is, the company supplies drinks. Coke, juice, water, whatever... there's a big refrig stocked full.

I didn't do anything today, because I couldn't, because my Secret Clearance isn't clear yet. Sat around, shot the bull, met a lot of people, filled out a ton of paperwork, and walked around... hmmmm sounds a lot like my old job, sans the internet. What? ROFL

I think everything is going to be just fine.

After work I went by Railroad Bazaar to check out the Korg Triton Studios a little closely. After about an hour and a half of fiddling, I decided I didn't like the way the plastic buttons and knobs felt. They felt cheap. And, I wasn't all that thrilled with the string and brass batches.

So I dunno. There's no hurry, I'm just in the beginning phases of looking anyway. It took me 2 years to decide to get the 99, so I figure it'll be next summer before I start really looking hard. I'll probably end up getting a new guitar in 2004, because I've been looking at them for 3 years now. Still leaning towards the PRS Custom 24, and naturally, we all know what her name is going to be.

Tonight I talked to some people who expressed interest in guitar lessons from me ... although I have no idea how I'm going to find time to do it with the video season really fixing to kick into full gear. I guess like everything else I'll find time somewhere.

Ran into Paul at the Brick tonight. He's finishing up eye-school at UAB in 3 months and will be partnering with a practice on Danville Rd., so best of luck to him. His sis, who I was like all infatuated with in middle/high school, is 7 months preggers. Wow.

Also ran into Adam B. and his woman up there. It looked like Jon's friend, Nick's band, was playing. That sentance makes no sense.

Anyways, hit up AB's for a bit. Holly is back training to be a server now, so that's good. I guess. We'll have to get Jon to bring his cell phone camera in and take pics. ROFL

I gotta get in the bed.

What a fantastic way

to spend my final day of freedom, before I begin my new job in the morning. I'm excited, yet somewhat uneasy about the fact that I have to now relinquish control of my daytime schedule to the man. It was really bad today, because it was SOOOO nice outside. Holy cow man.

Before I get into what's been going on, if you'll recall, I mentioned somewhere we saw this book in the back seat of a car in Florence when we were heading to Tunica over the weekend... well here is the pic Jon took of it of his phone... scary huh.

Well I started off the day with a trip to the dentist at 8:00 AM for a cleaning. That was lovely. Went for a drug test this morning too. Now this may just be me... but it seems like this is 2004 and there would be better ways to determine if you're on crack than by having you pee into a cup... but maybe I'm wrong...

I met Q up at Wilson Morgan around 12:30 PM and we ran that instead of hitting up the gym today. I'm going to miss that too... DAC isn't very crowded during the day, but when 5:00 hits, the place is a mad house. Oh well.

I spent a lot of time this afternoon trying to figure out the whole DVD menu thing. The highlight system is a lot more complicated than the 24-bit image method we've been using in our DVD authoring, but it's the way most of the major authors produce DVD's so we're converting to that. Gah it's confusing.

After banging my head on that for about 3 hours, I met Jeff up at The Brick at 5:00 for some billiards. All our favs were there today... Tina, Belle, and Wes. Since we started going on Thursdays, and I've been in Nashville like every weekend it seems since January, I haven't seen them in weeks.

Right after billiards it was time for band practice. It went pretty smooth and I mostly noodled around. Tore the stage apart and put everything up for the bands that are coming in to perform Saturday night. There are going to be a ton of people there. It should be a good time.

After that we hit up Cracker Barrell. I had the usual, and our waitress, whom we sat with one time like a month ago, remembered what I ate. Wow, that was kewl. That never happens. Oh wait. ROFL
Ok so it only happens at Applebee's and The Brick. You know the song... "sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name, and what you eat." So anyways, props to Sarah for remembering.

Looks like the hour is upon me where I must get ready for bed... because tomorrow is gonna be whack.

Cell Phoneage

Well in a couple months here, I will have had my current cell phone for 3 years. Wow that's a long time. So here I am, looking at getting a new one but there are so many choices and options, it's really confusing. (and they're really expensive)

I like the Sprint thing where the unlimited nights starts at 7:00 PM because most all of my calling is doing at night. Having those 2 extra hours would really be great. But at the same time, you have to sign a new 2-year agreement and get a new plan.. which would be like $40/month ($35 for 300 minutes + $5 for the 7:00 PM early minute thingy)

Right now I'm billed $27.29/month (taxes and everything) for 300 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends starting at 9:00. That's a pretty sweet deal right there.

I dunno I gotta look around. Now that your cell phone number is portable between carriers, all I'm interested in is finding the best deal, and keeping the same phone number (since it's used for business)

ALL I WANT IS THE BEST DEAL IN ALABAMA, INCLUDING NATIONWIDE COVERAGE WHEN I TRAVEL TO STATES LIKE TENNESSEE, MISSISSIPPI, GEORGIA, AND FLORIDA!!!!!RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

LOL

That's Howard Dean, in case you're not hip on the latest political humor.

My final days...

before I go back to work (I know some of you were thinking, on the face of the earth... LOL) have been busy.

I woke up at 7:00 AM and went to see my accountant at 8:00 AM. After going through all my stuff from '03, looks like I'll be getting some coin back from the man. So that's kewl.

Finished up that big spring jam video this morning and went back to bed around 11:30 AM. Fed Ex came by my house at 1:00 PM to pick up an overnight envelope from me. That's kewl. You don't even have to leave your house to ship stuff.

I've been diddling around the house all afternoon... fixing to head to the gym.

WPBA Stuff is up

I'm not going to blog about it. All the pics and a timeline are up on my website. Enjoy!

Met Q up at the gym this afternoon and did Chest and Tri's. Cleaned up the house some and filled out some paperwork. Went up to the mall and ate Mexican with Jon and Kevin and Stacy. Came home. Worked on the pics... now I'm going to do guitar for a while.

How can you tell when Spring time is almost here? It's simple , just check out my website stats. I had almost 65,000 hits last month, most of them searching for "Spring Break" and "Gulf Shores". It happens every year though. FWIW, the average is like 20K hits a month.

Peace out.

WPBA; Tunica MS; Part II

My friends, the saga continues. This year we added a new participant in the excursion to the Delta Classic at Sam's Town Resort and Casino in Robinsonville, MS.

Everyone had a great time, we met a lot of new people, made new friends, and we've got tons of pictures to post. They will be on my website in a couple days.

I'd love to post more about it, but it's late and I'm exhausted. I can assure you this, Jeff, J-Mo, and myself will be plastered all over ESPN like a frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.

I wore a bright yellow shirt this year, and I stand out between Jeff and J-mo like a traffic signal. LOL. Man those studio lights were bright!

I leave you with this:

Daily Funny
[2:30 AM in the morning... Jon's playing 21, so Jeff and I walk thru the casino looking for some games of chance to play... Jeff picks up one of those plastic containers to put your coins in... and then walks over and puts $5 in the video poker machine... a few button pushes later... he's lost his $5]

K: That bucket is about as useful as this pack of condoms in my wallet...

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
