Welcome to Freak-Mart

It’s that time again… time for me to go-off on Wal-Mart.

As my regular readers know, I go to Wal-Mart, maybe 10 times a year. I hate that store. I hate it on two levels. First, their business practices, I do not really agree with… and that’s coming from me, as a small business owner. Second, I don’t know about where you live, but here in Decatur, Wal-Mart is what we call a “FREAK MAGNET”.

{Say this with an Eric Cartman voice}
I’m not making a judgment on their character, I’m just saying they look like freaks. That’s all.

Maybe it’s just Alabama. Maybe it’s because it’s too close to the county line. I really don’t know…

Better than
One of the girls I work with has a boyfriend (she’s 21 and he’s like 20?). She was complaining to me the other day how all his friends are so immature and don’t like her etc etc. She was like, “They don’t like me because I don’t stay out late, and I’m in bed by 10:00 PM…. And because I don’t play video games, and I don’t drink or smoke.”

This led to a discussion on her being “better than” his friends because they also don’t have jobs, or work some menial job. I think she’s right… she’s better than those losers.

My Day Today
I worked non-stop for 4 straight hours this morning on some memos. Completed 8 of them. During lunch I ran to Old Navy and hooked up with 2 pairs of jeans. Hit up Best Buy, and ran into Big John there. Picked up a game for J-mo. I went through Holly’s line and she was like, “Do you have a PSP?” and I was like, “No this is for Jonathan.” She was like, “Oh… I don’t have one either, I do have an old Nintendo though that I play.” I was like, “Kewl… I love Nintendo, old school.. gotta go.. cya later”

Met up with J-mo and Solita over in Huntsville for some pix after work around 3:00 PM. Took several and headed to Macaroni Grill for a delicious dinner. Got home a little after 5:00 PM and just lounged for a bit.

Headed to J-mo’s around 6:30 to look at pix and go to CVS to print our more 4x6’s for my office. I hung up the one that Shanna wanted, so I printed her another copy. We then headed to Wal-Mart and then to Books-A-Billion. By this point it was a little after 9:00 PM so we figured it’d be safe to hit up Logan’s.

Got seated rather promptly. We learned from some of the other waitresses that, getting totally drunk is the only thing to do in town on Friday nights.

Anyways, had a bite to eat and just hung out for a while. Everyone was coming over to talk and stuff. I’m glad I wasn’t really hungry because, I wouldn’t have been able to eat a real meal with all the hoop-la going on.

It’s been a long day, but a really good day. I’m incredibly happy and content.

Until next time….
