No candy?

I recently heard that Alabama schools don't celebrate Halloween any more. I'm talking, the kids aren't allowed to eat candy. They can dress up, but they can't eat candy. They have to bring like healthy fruit snacks and granola bars.

Hello? The whole point of Halloween is getting to eat a giant punch bowl of candy. Not a giant punch bowl of Quaker Oats reduced fat granola bars and Yoplat yogurt.

Apparently, statistics indicate that Alabama has the fattest Fatty McFatterson's in the United States, so there is grave concern over the situation here in the south.

I'm thinking, it's the parents who need to get their kids of their fat butts and out into the yard to play ball and stuff. Turn off the Xbox 360 and Internet and make 'em get outside. Especially now, it's summertime for the love of Pete.

On a side note, this morning I read on Yahoo News where the soda manufacturers have agreed to remove drink vending machines from schools. I do see that as a good thing, becaue I know when I drink Mountain Dews, Dr. Peppers, and Sunkists... and don't work out for even a couple days, my pants don't fit. Seriously.

Anyways, it's Halloween people. Once a year. Let the kids eat some junk food.
