"No man will ever take care of me!!"

This past Friday was our first road trip.

How'd it go? I would have to say it went quite well from my viewpoint... all except for dinner. I could be mistaken, but I think God might be telling me, "Ok you fool, I've given you an awesome woman who is a great cook. Stop eating out so much and spend my money better." I think this because, 3 times in the past week I've picked out a restaurant I've enjoyed eating at, all 3 times have had serious kitchen misfires. (Sunday night, she cooked for J-mo and I... roast... ummmm ummmm delicious! Every man should be so blessed!)

We were leaving Shane and Melody's. He made mention of something about how Jawana is dating me now and is set for life. She proclaimed, "No man will ever take care of me!" That concerned me as to what that meant exactly because it sounded like some kind of femi-nazi talk, and to this point in our relationship I had not gathered that she was a femi-nazi. I think I treat my girlfriend with respect and find myself placing significant value in her opinions and thoughts when she expresses them to me.

The more she explained what she meant, the more I was just like, "Thank you God." It's awesome knowing she wants to contribute to the household, not only as a wife and mother, but provide financial income as well. She is such a hard worker, I really admire that in her. It's not like she just wants to get married, make babies, and then lay around the house all day and watch tv and not do anything. She wants to make her contribution to the household in a real and tangible way. Not that, raising the kids isn't a tangible thing. But, you know what I mean?
"I feel like I should contribute financially to the household. If you don't want me to work full time, I would at least like to work 2 years after we got married and bank my salary and live on your salary." .. in essence creating a large emergency fund.

Good Lord, I am the luckiest guy in the world. To have a girlfriend who understands these financial concepts that lead to success just adds to the fact that she is an amazing woman. She makes me so happy!
