I thought about titling this post, "The Day The Earth Stood Still"...I spent my entire life savings on this briefcase this afternoon. Worth it? Was it a good deal? Man I sure hope so.
Here we all are, sitting at closing and the bank lady hands me this briefcase and says, "This is a little gift from us to you." So of course, I see that it is a "Deal or No Deal" type case. My heart leaps for joy and I'm thinking maybe they're giving me a million dollars or something.
Since there were only old men and no hot scantily clad ladies around to open it for me, I opened it myself. To my dismay, the case did not contain $1 million. It contained a bunch of tools. Tools. Something that is totally useless to me. I can barely use a broom for the love of pete.
It still hasn't hit me yet, that today... I became a homeowner. The whole notion is just a little overwhelming. It almost makes me feel like an adult. A real adult. I'm going to have bills to pay and everything.
Boy if you thought I was cost conscious before I got this mortgage, you ain't seen nothing yet! LOL Talk about coupon cutting, sale shopping, and lots of home cooking. I'm taking it to a whole new level!
Maybe I really am a total nerd as my girlfriend describes me. I'm actually excited about making a budget and sticking to it. Yeah, I'm sick. LOL
