In case you aren't aware, when you live in the South, people around here completely freak out when anyone mentions snow. Everything was delayed opening 2 to 4 hours today because of the conditions. 1" of snow. The grocery stores were like madhouses with people scrambling to get bread, milk, and water at the last minute. Absolute insanity I say!
In other news, you may recall a while back when we were doing the radio show that I had an idea for color-coded curbs. (Green= safe, Yellow= don't stay in one place too long, Red = make a U-turn and go the opposite direction) Well last week, I thought I would be Rico Suave' or however you spell it, and surprize my gf on her job. She works for the post office and is the hot blonde girl you see driving around in the mail truck Mon-Sat.
At the end of her day, she was telling me she works the ghetto. Let me tell you, that really makes me feel secure for her. So, I had this idea:
In bad parts of a city, instead of houses/apts having mailboxes what we need is a centralized drop off point that is well outside the "bad area" boundaries. That way, no one is endangered by crossfire or stray bullets or random stabbings etc.
I thought this up as I was driving though there, and promptly locked my doors. Not sure how that is going to stop bullets from coming through the window, but it made me feel better.
I thought back to the night last summer when I was coming home from the gym. It was late in the evening and I had pulled up to a 4-way stop in what was definately a Yellow curbed area. I was first in line and here came this guy walking out into the street, coming towards me, saying something and flailing his arms all about like he wanted money or something. I sat there and listened to him for a minute and then drove out of there, as he approached other cars, it was like a car crash derby with everyone flooring it and screaching their tires to get out of there as quick as possible.
In even other news, what is the deal? This is February already! Ok, I'm going to bed. Have a great weekend! I'm getting ready for the Super Bowl on Sunday!!
