Thoughts and observations from today's journey:
(1) On the flight from Dallas Ft. Worth to Corpus Christi, there was a lady two rows up who picked her nose the entire flight. GROSS!
(2) The iPod vending machine. Why is this really necessary? 5 years ago, we all flew without iPods. Are they a necessity now?
(3) How in the world did we travel before cell-phone based GPS? The navigation in my Sprint PCS phone is off the hook cool! It led me from the car rental place, right to my hotel, and then right to Burger King and Wal-Mart flawlessly. I drove to the beach which is about 6 miles away, and drove around and then it told me how to get back to the hotel. I tell you, this thing is the coolest and most useful tool when travelling to cities you've never been to before! TeleNAV on Sprint PCS, get it today!
(4) We had a major back up in Dallas due to weather. There were 6 planes in front of us on the tarmac and 11 behind us! Once it cleared, they started launching us one after the other, that was fun. The worst part was, there was a baby on board that cried the entire 1 hour and 7 minutes. I wanted to open the doors and go sky diving without a parachute for the love of Pete!
(5) Flying through the clouds is the coolest thing. It's like a giant soft and fuzzy cotton ball!
(6) Why is everything in the airport so expensive? It's like they're running their own little communist country in there. Coffee and donuts, $7. Sandwich $11. What scares me is, I see people actually paying for it. I did give in when I saw the Dunkin' Donuts shop. They make my favorite donuts... buttermilk!!! I got one and a Mountain Dew for $3.
(7) I was so excited when I found the gym here at the hotel because I saw a stair master and treadmill. But to my dismay, neither worked. So I guess I'll have to get over and run along the boardwalk by the ocean. Crap. LOL
(8) The main road in Corpus Christi is a lot like Huntsville's South Memorial Parkway except it's 3 and 4 lanes wide in both directions.
(9) This is the first hotel I've stayed at that offers free hot breakfast and free hot dinner! Awesome! It saves me $$$!!! Which makes me happy!! The dinner was actually pretty darn good tonight! Can't wait to see the breakfast tomorrow morning.
(10) And last, but certainly not least, travelling by yourself can be kind of boring. I miss my baby!
