ups and downs

Good News Of The Week:
- Raced Mario Kart Monday night with Shane, Jmo, and Bone. It ruled. Except for the falling off the cliffs part in Wario's Mine.

- Found out I can get my haircut on base for $10 and it comes out looking pretty good. Spiked. Love it.

- Been practcing guitar more regularly. Getting back into that in case I ever play out again.


Bad News Of The Week:
- Found out Thursday morning that my grandpa passed away the evening before. Very sad. What really sucks is right now we can't really afford plane tickets to go to the funeral in Hawaii. They are like $2,000 a piece. That's retarded right there.

- Woke up Tuesday morning with a massive sore throat. Just now getting better.

- Thursday morning I had to go to the dermatologist for my annual skin checkup. They cut a mole off of my back. Ouch! Biopsy report in a couple weeks.

- Good Lord... what is going on with gas prices? I paid $3.75/gallon this morning. Ridiculous. I ran some numbers, and if it continues at this pace, we will hit $5 by November and $8 next summer.

- Oreo has not been around for over a week. It's crazy how attached you get to an animal. I've been sort of depressed about that for about 10 days now.


Debt Reduction and Finance news of the week.
- It is almost mortgage payment time and we decided to start throwing an extra $1,000 a month at the principal amount.

- We have been watching Dave Ramsey about every night. I'm glad Jawana is watching and learning. In case something happens to me, it is up to her to continue the legacy and teach the kids how to win with money and life.

- I am getting on the ball with the estate planning and such. As Dave recommends getting Term Life Insurance for 10x your annual income, we're getting that lined up as well as Long Term Care Insurance and updating Auto and Home insurance. Not to mention starting the college savings plan for the kids.
