…Or is there something wrong with this story?
As my friends know, the only topic I will not blog about revolves around girls that I truly like and the dates we go on, whether they be good or bad. However, I’m going to break this rule one time for this post.
There’s a girl I like, and naturally she’s fairly attractive. I was under the impression she and I were beginning to make a connection. On Saturday, I asked if she’d like to go out sometime and I asked for her number. With a perky enthusiasm, she said yes, and gave me her number. All is well. I'm happy and content.
Sunday morning I wake up and check my email. This other girl I know, that knows the hottie I want to date, had emailed me saying, the she had given me the wrong phone number by accident, and that her correct number was blah. The friend also told me, the hottie wanted to “explain something to me” before I called her and to come see her on Tuesday.
Immediately upon reading this, I knew something was amiss.
Today
After an apology and explanation for giving me the wrong phone number, I asked, “Is that everything you wanted to tell me?” and she was like, “Well there is one other thing... to be completely honest. I live with my boyfriend, soon to be ex-boyfriend, although he doesn’t know that yet.”
At that point I just about fell out of my chair.
This was followed with, “I got to thinking after Saturday night… I wasn’t sure if you just wanted to hang out, or go out on a date… because to not be scheming or anything, I could really only hang out with you. I’ve already told him, “If a guy named Kyle calls, it’s ok because we’re just going to hang out. I just didn't want you to be surprized when you called and a guy answered the phone.”
Deeeeehhhhhhhh Duuhhhhhhhh
My neural synapses were misfiring at that point.
Actually, I don’t recall what happened after that, and I’m not sure how I even made it from the restaurant to my house. I can’t even form a logical thought at this point.
