This morning Jawana woke up with a sharp pain in her side. After a call to her doc, she recommended we come in to the ER. We arrived a little after 8AM and have been here all day.
When we got to the ER, the doc that was doing the initial evaluation came in, and had a broken arm. I was thinking, "You're a doc, shouldn't you take better care of yourself?" I'm not sure how I feel about a guy with a broken arm dispensing medical information to me.
She underwent surgery at about 3:00 PM and they took her appendix out. But, that wasn't the cause of the pain. It's a cyst on her ovary. The doc doing the surgery didn't specialize in cysts, so they left it there. Further action TBD. All in all she and the baby are doing fine, so we are thankful for that. Thanks to everyone who said a prayer.
Looking back on this week, God's hand in our lives has been as clear as the water in the Florida Keys.
(1) He brought us a person to buy her house, and he paid cash on Thursday for it.
(2) That house sale allowed us to pay off her car yesterday.
Now we have no debt, other than our current mortgage, and she can quit her job. And, as of today, it looks like she is going to have to quit, because she can't work for 4 weeks.
God's timing in all this was perfect.

There was a knock on the door, and in walked Bone. It was a pleasant surprise! It was good to see an old friend. We cruised over to Big Bob's and grabbed some food. Good times.

Now, I'm kicked back in the chair and we are channel surfing as my baby eats a Cherry popsicle.
8:15 PM
Some folks from church stopped by and let us know a prayer chain has been activated. We prayed for Jawana's recovery. The Family at First Baptist is something else. It makes me feel good to know that they care so much about the people in their midst.
9:10 PM
The nurse just came in to check the baby's heartbeat. It registered at 141, which is in the good zone, so that's awesome. Every 4 hours we get to do a check.

I'm glad things worked out for the best with the house/job situation, and will continue to hope that Jawana and the baby stay healthy.
