I found myself singing that song today. You know, the one from the 1980's for that toy. What was that thing, a doll for a boy? or what? Anyways, I've had a really hard time this week being away from my little buddy Brayden. He's 3.5 months old and is growing and learning every day. Man there is just such an amazing bond between father and son. I have never experienced anything so awesome in my life. It is so amazing! I am looking forward to getting home and being back with the family. I miss my wife and our daughter. The road warrior life is not one for married folks. I don't see how guys on our team do this week in and week out. I am so glad we have a rotation on our team. Hopefully I won't have to go out of town again for a while!
Are you ready for Christmas? I am not ready. So far all I've gotten my wife is a new super fly mixer so she can like mix up dough and a new watch. I, we, got Shayla a few things, but are having a hard time getting stuff for Brayden. What do you get a 4 month old? It's not like he can verbalize his wants to us.
Should we get something for the neighborhood cat that we feed? Technically, he's not ours, but we do let him inside and he hangs out inside for hours on end and even watches TV with us on the couch, so I guess that officially makes him part of our family. Right? And, I have added his name, paw print, to our Christmas letter...
Is the economy really that bad? Probably. Our family has not been affected per se, but I am encountering more and more people who have been. Although I just found out that a friend in Nashville who was laid off 3 weeks ago, got a job today. Walked in for the interview, and by the end of the session he had an offer, accepted it and will be starting a new job next week. So, there is still hope out there for people.
30 minute lunches? Every time I go out on these audits to factories, I am amazed at the buzzer system. At noon, the lunch buzzer rings and you have 30 minutes to eat lunch. Then at 12:30 it rings again and everyone goes back to work. I could never work under that kind of a system. 30 minutes for lunch is no where near enough time. I am so glad I'm on the salary system where we have no set time for lunch. All the more reason to go to college.
I'm going to go watch the weather channel and watch for this major snow front we are about to get hit with a major snow storm supposedly.

Buy him like one toy and one outfit and put the rest into a savings account. It's great to do that when they are little: they don't notice money then :)
Plus, if your family is anything like any family I've ever known, he'll get soooo much for Christmas it will be overload anyway ;)
Get him a whole roll of wrapping paper, just for himself. That's probably what he'll end up playing with anyway. Maybe wrap up a box for him. At that age, they like the box and paper more than the actual gift.
Both excellent ideas! thanks!
